We don’t seem to be able to take advantage of Robbos long throws though
Perhaps that will change tonight? 🙏
The problem with most long throw specialists is that they take an age to throw it! This allows the defence to set up properly and makes it hard to score. The lads should bust a gut to get into the box when we get a throw in that JLT will take and he should get the fcker in there soon as, rather than wipe the ball for 5 mins 🤣🤣 Edit...i have a solution, instead of wiping the ball dry JLT plays with a pair of marigolds on his hands. There u go, sorted!

They've got a reyt intimidating lot of teens next to our end, their fans do seem well up for it though.

I wonder if we might switch between a 442 and a 433 tonight, based on tge starting XI?

You could have Campbell and Moore as a pair, or you can tuck Hamer infield for a midfield 3, and have Brewster further forward. Which would then allow us to go man-to-man against their back 3.

Might not happen, but seems viable based on player selection.

Is JRS injured then? Only reason he wouldn't be at least on the bench?

Listen - I don’t agree with the line up but is not time for negativity now. Just get behind whoever is on the pitch and see where we are after the 90 minutes.

I'd always be tempted to get JLT to look like he's ready to do his usual long throw...then throw it short to one of our players who whips a cross into their box from an unexpected angle. Otherwise it's all too obvious

Waited too long to integrate Holding he was never going to play tonight. BBD & JRS arguably the first two choices for the right so disappointing neither are fit. Not sure I’d have gone with Brewster in that position though, still would’ve preferred O’Hare.

I’m also surprised we’ve gone 442 against Bristol City specifically, not sure it suits playing vs a possession orientated 343. We have looked more creative when we’ve played it though so hopefully we see more of that tonight. Counter attack is key, they’re very susceptible on the break.
