Whatever happens here, we have to use a #10 next game. You could see the difference instantly.

Can see Osbourne on but who gets the hook god only knows. Going to need Burke’s pace for the counter. Any chance of 4-2-1-2?
He went 4-4-1 after the sending off. I would think he would keep it the same intially

Makes sense as next change to take Ampadu off, bring Osborne on and move McGoldrick more central.

I wouldn’t argue with the red, red could have gone either way. Shouldn’t have gone in like that. Those saying VAR has killed the game, fuck this poxy league, I’m done with football etc etc.... would you be saying that

The match day commentators on Talksport are discussing the game now.

Regards the sending off....they saying its a 50/50 decison. Would have been lucky to receive a yellow but unlucky to receive red.

They said it was actually a fair tackle and he won the ball BUT his follow through was reckless and dangerous.
They agree that 10 years ago it’s a yellow card (at worse) but the recent trends to take potential danger out of the game suggests red was correct.

They also expressed their concern at the constant screaming mainly by the Brighton players when players receive a challenge.
They said....with few fans in the ground you can now hear screams and it’s being used as a form of cheating,
The screaming is absolutely embarrassing. Was it Egan? in the corner with a Brighton player and when he touched him he went to ground screaming. You could see the reaction of "are you taking the piss"

I'd be hanging my head to hear our players bitch around like that and I hope it's not something we start doing. Shame too as Brighton have had one or two decent attacks on us.

hard man Roy Keane it's a red all day ... He wants to have a game of rugby league see how 'hard' he is, the fucking prick

VAR is the problem again, ref gave a yellow. I just hate it

The whole purpose of using VAR is to correct ref mistakes....letting refs use the camera has improved things.
This season VAR has been much much better....it’s getting nearer to being a success,

So essentially what they’re saying is it wasn’t a clear and obvious error and VAR shouldn’t have got involved.

Aside from the sending off, which was brainless at best, that was still a poor 45.
Fleck should rightly feel ashamed of himself. He was abject, as was Robinson.
More long ball shit, then more, then a bit more. Will we ever learn?
Brighton are average at best and we aren't even trying to play the ball to feet and get our game going again.
We are a very hard watch at the moment, and our players must be some of the most naive and thickest in the league.
We desperately need a goal to have something to cling to.

How didn’t the ref see we had an advantage from the foul on Burke though?? Not like Didzy was through on goal or owt

He did get the ball first totally agree but the follow through is why the red was brandished, studs showing and not controlled is why it would of been given.

its an ankle/leg breaker if brighton players leg is grounded
Stand up, swing your foot, tell me if on the follow through the bottom of your foot comes up 😑 it's a natural position, he didn't go in with his studs, he literally tried to pass the ball and with that motion his foot has to go up and come down, it was the Brighton player who was late to the ball and his foot was where Lunnys was naturally going, if he went over the ball, he would have kicked the guy in the leg not stood on his fucking foot

If I wanted to watch a sport with no contact I would go and watch Sheffield Sharks play basketball. This game has been ruined by divers & cheats screaming in fake agony when anyone goes near them. Two incidents earlier in the game their player gets an arm in his face goes down rolling around, our player gets the same gets up rubs his bonce and carries on. Fucking southern snowflakes hope the 10 kick shit out of the bastards in the 2nd half.

It's killing football and needs binning

Was a silly challenge in the first place from Lundstram. We were just starting to look the better team since Burke came on. Thrown it away.

Brighton cut through us multiple times

This is closer to Southampton than Man U performance. Clearly the wrong team picked as we couldn’t hold onto the ball or find a pass for the first 30 minutes. Necessitating a change before half time.

followed by a brainless decision in a big moment.

2020 / 21 season in microcosm

Ok, now do the same running as fast as you can towards an opponent with a planted leg, studs showing and let me know if theres a chance it can break a leg.
Then consult with the rules, listen to the pundits and the over-whelming consus is, red card.

Not sure that logic checks out tbh.
How? Does nobody understand the motion of the foot when you pass a ball, inevitably the studs of the boot will always show when you swing your foot to make a pass or kick the ball, if you look at the low angle of course you will see studs, his foot came down on top of the Brighton players foot, it wasn't his ankle, or his leg, his foot, because his foot was exactly where Lunnys foot was going to land after getting the ball first, the Brighton player was late so his foot was where he thought the ball was, he put his foot in the way even though he was second to the ball, had he been a second later he would have been stamping on Lunnys foot.

It's a fucking 50/50 ball Lunnys got there first and won the ball

First time we haven't conceded a goal in the first half of an away match since Arsenal on the 4th October.

Come on Blades, we can still win this.

How can you break a leg when you stand on a foot? He didn't have a planted leg, he put his leg in for the ball the Lunny got first and Lunny stood on his foot, he literally got the ball and that's why the Brighton player didn't, because he was late to the ball and put his foot where it would have been if Lunny didn't get the fucking ball first
