Ok, so first things first, its official. Brian Howard is a Blade.
But, after reading official statements from both clubs (available on the official sites) a couple of things have pleased me, but 1 or 2 things have got me worried.
Firstly United's statement, somewhat short and sweet sums up the entire saga and to me as a slight drop of sarcasm in it, stating that Barnsley will be publicising the details of the deal and United will make no further comment. It kind of says "Let Barnsley do the talking".
A pleasing thing from Barnsley's statement is this, and I quote "Further to our statement on Tuesday, the club has now recieved a formal response from Brian Howard's agent that their client does not wish to consider any alternative offers that might be put to him from other clubs and wishes only to join Sheffield United"
This clearly shows that Howard had his heart set on moving to BDTBL and anyone that is so committed to joining our club is a welcome addition in my opinion.
Now, the main reason for my concern, and the reason for this thread.........
As mentioned on another post, Barnsley's statements clearly states that "It has also been agreed between the club's that Brian Howard will not play against Barnsley FC in the period of his loan to Sheffield United
Im not 100% sure on this, and I would appreciate any further information, but by agreeing to this and then publicly announcing it, are we not in breach of any third party ownership/influence rules?
Given recent press and the queries drawn up over the loan deal that took Steven Kabba to Watford (admittedly only by that sprout known as Martin Samuel) are we possibly going to end up in trouble for this???????
Toughts please?
and I hope my first thread here on sheff-utd.co.uk goes down reasonably well.........
