Do we want him back?
Will he come back?
Or does it depend on if Burton stay up?

Personally I feel he doesn't want to come back but would come back if burton went down. Isnt he playing right centre back in a three for them! Id happily have him back if he was anywhere near his best but not at the expense of freeman!

I'd love him back as long as he can get over his Cloughaholism! He'd be great either as part of a back 3 or RWB. Freeman is rightly in possession of the shirt but competition is never bad and you can't have enough quality.

I'd rather have him back than him leave for nowt.

I'm not majorly fussed though. Almost forgotten about him I've been enjoying this season without him.

I have no interest whatsoever in seeing him back here and I don't think Wilder has either.

We have used his wages much better this season and we could do the same next season.
It's funny how one average beard can make cult status in no time. Might grow one myself.

When at his best with us he was a far better player than Freeman is. Unfortunately the jury is out on whether he can get anywhere near that level. If he could, I'd love him back. As ever though, I'll back Wilders judgement as I do on all things ( Despite saying Freeman would be a liability, but that was before Chris tuftified him and Coutts).

I'd pretty much forgotten all about him tbh...not an issue till the summer.

I don't care if we offload him or not, his Clough obsession was sad.

I wonder if any part of him is the slightest bit disappointed about what we are doing this season?

He's certainly good enough for the Championship, and if Wilder can accept that his heart would be here, rather than somewhere else, then I would love to see him return.

He's a more proven orthodox right back than Freeman. I guess it depends whether we'll revert to 4-4-2.

As your post infers mate, lots of questions still to be answered. I've learnt to go with Wilder's judgement. He's the one who'll live or die by his choice of player and the team he selects, so looking forward to next season, even if it's yet to be seen which division we'll be playing in (as if I've no idea of course).

I thought this thread was about our upcoming promotion party on 17th April.. totally forgot about the bearded one.

Think wilder will have a look at him preseason and take it from there. If Burton stay up there'll be a chance he'll go there on a permanent deal.

Was at The Sty last night with my Burton supporting mate (I know! Hang my head in shame!!). The Beard played in centre defence as part of a back five (FLN at his adventurous best!) so no trademark marauding runs. Thought he was ok but nothing outstanding although it is a league higher of course.
Nice to see Burton "do a job" on the Piglets with relative ease. Came for a point and got it! On that showing not impressed by the Grunters. Long hanging balls towards Rhodes looked like Plan A, B and C. No real creativity although with 10 Burton players behind the ball it wasn't easy.

He could come back in to play on the right side of our 3 if we don't sign EEL. If we sign EEL then sell him to Burton.

Did he look fully fit? Did he last 90 minutes?

What we face week in week out, but complain when we don't score 5.

Have him back on reduced wages as an understudy to Freeman. His heart will never be with this clum IMO

Personally, I feel Brayford gets an unfair press from a lot of Utd supporters these days. It mustn't be forgotten that he accepted a significant pay cut to join the club, partly due to the relentless (& somewhat embarrassing) clamouring from a large number of our supporters.

He's been unlucky with injuries since signing but by all accounts has performed well at Burton and is undoubtedly a Champ level player. Whether or not he returns and plays for the club again remains to be seen and will be dependant on a number of different factors, especially what CW wants to do but I certainly wouldn't be opposed to him coming back if the club achieves promotion, despite his salary potentially being able to be put to better and more effective means.

Don't understand this Phaah attitude towards him. All he did was come and play football for us. The fans put him on a pedestal and he continued to do his best for us. If it wasn't for that twat from Swindon nobbling him he would have been still a great player for us. As it was it took him time to get back and recover. Now many are touting Coutts who openly admitted he did not play to the best of his ability when he was also recovering. (Not because he was recovering but because he saw no point or his heart wasn't in it) as some sort of hero. Well those that are doing that and distancing Brayford, have a look at yourselves. He knows this club well and will give all for it should Wilder want him and have faith in him. He is playing where we are going which can only be good and why should it be at the expense of Freeman? Adaptable players are always useful and some folk see players as having a fixed position.

Bit harsh on Lafferty and Basham but Brayford at his best would strengthen our starting XI

Seems like he had a solid game last night according to the snorters. If he can do it at championship level at centre back he might well be an option cos we are accepting landell is going back and everyone seems to think jake wright cannot cut it! Lets get there and see!
