boltons demise.

Bolton are the main threat to United and Scunny, close behind them are Fleetwood and Bradford. If us and Scunny keep on averaging 2pts per game Fleetwood and Bradford would have to win every game remaining to get anywhere near us, I just can't see it happening. Perm any four of the top nine teams for the play off's.

3 points worse off in terms of Scunthorpe though.

Typical bloody negative Barney.

He ought to be barred permanently.
Doesn't really matter, top of the league and back to winning ways.
Hang on a minute.

"Barney!

Barney, mate!

Come back please......"

Who would have thought the pigs would have won 11 and drawn 3 of their last 14 games that year ?? owt can happen

I don't know what to make of that. They seem to have a lot of problems but I'd like to know where they get the £30m from. A lot of players are out of contract at the end of the season and will be released. Have they taken this into account? They use a lot of accountancy terms but I'm not convinced they're entirely literate when it comes to interpreting accounts.
Tbh, I'm not that interested in accounts to go through them, I find ours tedious enough and that's for the club I support but my instinct is that the supporters trust are posturing a bit.

As much as I want to get out of this, it would be great to get promoted on merit and not because of another teams demise

Fuck that, I'll take any teams ill fortune if it means we can go up. Even if it means their leading scorer gets banged up with 3 games to go. Of course, that couldn't happen I know......................:rolleyes:

Unfortunately if they win their games in hand they are only 3pts behind

This could easily have been written thus:

"Unfortunately for them, if they win their games in hand they will still be 3pts behind".

Why oh why do our fans have to take such a negative and miserable line on everything. And please don't give me this footballing gods bullshit. The reason we have failed in the past is either because we have been shit on the day (Palace, Wolves, Burnley, Hudders) or we have bottled it (pigs promotion year). Its got fuck all to do with football fucking gods.

This time we are going up because we are playing better football than the teams around us, we are in a better position than the teams around us and we have a better team than the teams around us. Just look at it this way and relax!

The supporters' club is posturing a lot. There's a quote midway through the article:

"It is estimated that between £25-30m will be needed to keep the club running at current levels".

Bolton are gambling the same way we did in 2011-12: maintaining a Championship payroll to try and get back to the second tier. There will be a big clearout in the summer if they don't go up: Wheater, Pratley, Spearing, Moxey, Dervitte and a host of others will be on mid to top end Championship salaries.

wasnt banking on them going this season , the jist is it could be within 18 months accordsing to this group of fans who seem to be genuinely worried

I personally think selling Clough has already done for their automatic chances

think thats why they, the fans trust , erred on the 18 months , in the hope next season theyd get championship finances , bigger crowds more tv revenue
as you say they are not set up to operate at this level, dont think its posturing think its genuine concern , they are missing paying players now , if gates fall much lower it will only worsen
