Bolton ticket wanted - 500 more available 9am Thursday

By the number who couldn't get them on Monday, and by history. General sale and high demand always results in queues at the ticket office. They should know that better than me. They only gave an update when there were almost no tickets left! That will always result in a rush. And it was clearly a 'mad rush' Monday and today - the fact they've been on sale three weeks is secondary.

Why a proportion in person only... because as I said, they knew people would turn up. Many taking time off work. If there were 1000 left then maybe it'd be different, but 300 is nothing.


Good news about the extra 500. Although why Bolton couldn't have just given us them all in the first place and let us send back any unsold is beyond me.

I suspect once Bolton send SUFC the Tickets, the Club have to pay for them, so its probably us that are asking for them in small(ish) batches

probably get lumbered with 490 unsold tickets now

Is it too obvious to suggest that if you're buying online for first time you will need to register first

Just out of interest .....

If one of the many Blades who have decided to boycott the game were asked by a friend to get them a ticket would you have got them one *

* Reason being your points total far exceeded your friends and buying one when they were first on sale would gaurentee your friend a ticket .

The loyalty points system is very fair and obviously something has to be done to reward our most loyal fans, but it is mismanaged by the club and fans alike

Our away followings on the whole have actually reduced since the loyalty points system was introduced so it is obviously not working properly.

Fans with a huge amount of loyalty points deserve first dibs, but they should snap the tickets up quickly and not fuck about waiting for friends and family so that they can sit next to them.
This give the impression that ticket sales are slow and the club will then reduce the amount that it is asking for.

Regardless of how many loyalty points a certain person has the club should issue tickets to anyone with more than, say 15,000 loyalty points.
All the big points holders can then get their tickets and sit together and we can ask for more tickets if there is going to be sufficient demand.

People with high loyalty points take too long to purchase and the club gives them too long to make their minds up, this doesn't leave sufficient time for additional tickets to be ordered or for lower point holders to make arrangements to travel.

When was the loyalty points system introduced ?
 
At the start of the Premier League season I think.

For an away game at Bolton there is the facility for 7000 away fans.

The way that the loyalty points system is run by United and our fans costs thousands of other fans the chance to go to a game where many more tickets could be available.
The club could have ordered even more tickets if the first groups of fans got their finger out and bought the tickets early enough
 
Followings have dropped since it came in because the status of the club as dropped significantly since it came in
 
Maybe Leonardo but many of our Premier League away games were not sold out because of the system
We then spent three years as a major Championship club gunning for promotion.
Away followings were down compared to what they would have been
 
It's not the fault of the points system though. It's quite clear when everyone can get their ticket.

I'm inclined to agree with LG here JJ

Remember that the points system was also introduced at the beginning of the worst recession in living memory aswell as our fall from grace .

I don't think the points system has helped but to lay the blame for falling away foĺlowings fairly and squarely at its feet is a tad hasty imo
 
No, the points system is fair in principle.

But it has to be managed better because it has sliced our typical away followings by a large amount

The big clubs run loyalty points systems and fans with the option to buy tickets buy them........immediately, regardless of who their going to be sat next to.

The loyalty points system should be something which is more strictly administered when we travel to games with very few tickets available or for big cup ties.

When we have the option to take a lot of fans it should be less stringent
 
JJBlade has a good point because I have no doubt that we could've sold 5 to 6,000 for this game with the new air of optimism, but at the end of the day, do we as a club see a Penny of that? The points system is fair but it could do with a tweak or two regarding when people can get tickets. We sold almost 3,000 tickets before they got to general sale, any man and his dog could see we needed way more than the initial allocation three days before general sale, they should've been on the phone straight away. The players could and should've had more backing on Saturday if it wasn't for such short sightedness.
