I agree with the loyalty system, I've always said that.
But there are lots of games when they don't matter a toss because everyone that wants to go can go.

Bolton can house up to 7,000 away fans, but because of the loyalty system we wont sell anywhere near that amount.
In the "free for all" days of old all 7,000 would have gone without upsetting our most loyal supporters. But tickets often don't reach lower point holders or general sale until a couple of days before the game, this leaves most people unable to arrange travel, days off work etc.

The pigs would just sell them, they'd sell tickets to any fucker that wanted one and they'd all cheer and get giddy about selling out in two days. Everyone that wanted to go would get a ticket regardless of how loyal a fan they were. It would appeal to their delusions.

All I'm saying is that the club should use some common sense in determining when the system is necessary and when it's irrelevant. If we played Yeovil or somebody and got a 1,000 allocation it is necessary but for this particular game I feel it's irrelevant because there's plenty of room. And with more time to prepare the "lesser fans" might have snapped up the full allocation.

To me it matters not, I'm not interested in away games and have no intention of travelling with United anymore so I'm not a disgruntled fan that cannot get a ticket.
Seriously, when was the last time we even looked like troubling 7k for an away game even in the Championship, let alone League 1? I believe we took 7k to Palace in 2009 with possible promotion on the cards. We didn't get that many tickets because they would go unsold, Bolton would be laying on staff for empty areas of the ground. That's before talk of a boycott as well.

MK Dons Rodders - when stupid dirty twat got sent down

I cant remember any Prem away games not being sold out
I dont think our away folowings have been down due to the loyalty points system its been the general apathy of spending 6 seasons in the 3rd division and higher admission prices

There were a number of games not sold out Pedro.
Fulham and Spurs to name two

I got in at both games due to having a couple of good mates in London, I was sat in the away section looking at the rows of empty seats on our end.
Considering these were among our first away games back in the Prem I thought it was a bit embarrassing.

The system seemed to improve after that but it was mainly down to smaller allocations at the Premier League stadiums.

For games at stadiums with large sections for away fans I just think the system is irrelevant, just my opinion although I understand there has to be some sort of loyalty system in place for a lot of games.

We can't because there are very few stadiums that can house that many away fans. But we are more than capable if the game warrants it.
First game of the season is always likely to be one of those types of games, and even if 7,000 wasn't achieved we would have been taking more to this particular game than we are doing if the system was managed better.

Pigs have loyalty points just like we do, and according to my oinking family members the way it works is a nightmare. The points drop off every two seasons and only count away games, so if they get 2 or 3 long away games a season that you can't make you're out of the top bracket straight away.

I went to Fulham and cant remember seeing any empty seats, Im not saying there wasnt
I didnt go to Tottenham as it was a Tuesday night game so cant comment but can see that being a reason
night game in London. Only other game I missed away was Chelski I did boycott that game at £50 a ticket

I went to Tottenham and was our first away game I cant remember many empty seats to be honest!

I looked on star website earlier and am pretty sure if Wendy were taking 4500 away in league 1 at 30 quid a pop it would be headlines on their sport page. Guess what? Surprise surprise not a mention!!

For those unable to get a ticket, recreate the Match day experience at the Macron by going to Crystal Peaks retail park, burning 30 quid, drinking warm tinnies on Drakehouse car park from Sainsburys before listening to us lose on Radio Sheffield.

Oh and to add some authenticity you can throw condiments from McDonalds at each other at half time.

Don't forget to ensure you spout bollocks in the Shout box and have your crayons handy

If they weren't sold out why didn't you get a ticket in the away end?

There weren't rows of empty seats at Fulham.

Is this additional 500 allocation for the upper or lower tier?

Maybe, just maybe, this is all Bolton would give us / safety group would allow and nothing to do with the loyalty point system or how amazing our away support is .... Did anyone think of that?

Or maybe talk of a boycot meant Bolton didn't send us a full allocation bease we didn't ask for it .

I was in London for a few days
The Spurs game and Fulham game were just a few days apart

Tuesday, Saturday. There weren't rows of empty seats at Fulham. Wasn't at Spurs so Wouldnt know but Tuesday night in London?

In any event you make the point about us selling more tickets if we had a better system but then say we couldn't sell out in the PL at games you didn't even buy away tickets for.

Or we have returned to 1986 and there's no internet.
Good to see another visionary.
20/20
internet's full of twats and twatter you can't trust it. My letter went second class in the post a week ast Tuesday and I am fully confident of a ticket arriving by return of post before Saturday. Can anybody fax me a map of how to get to Burnden Park plz?

You have a telex....

Anyone off down to Bri and Irene's for a butty before joining the queue?

Not sure I follow this - are the Club to have people monitoring the car park from 6am to check for people queuing?

I've suggested this before. Wouldn't it be possible to use one of the CCTV cameras in the South Stand car park trained on the queueing area and to have a 'LiveCam' feed on the OS when we have occasions lke this? Obviously it wouldn't benefit people who live out of town, but those who live/work locally could decide whether to pop down, say, in their dinner break depending on the size of the queue.

Plus we could laugh at all those queuing, while keeping cool by wafting our match tickets in a fan like motion.

ALL SOLD OUT!!! I had the tickets in my basket and everything. My own fault, should have bought them sooner

Ticket was in basket, when payment was being taken it said, "ticket no longer available!". My own fault, could have got tickets earlier but not used to away matches selling out
