A gesture from Sheffield United in offering those who are travelling free coach travel might go some way to changing a few minds...

From what I've heard of official SUFC coaches, I'm not so sure it would. I believe 'funeral' was one word used to describe the atmosphere by a friend of mine.

Well Bolton itself is hardly a barrel of laughs - we've always frequented a tiny boozer down the road but you're not exactly spoilt for choice.

If its the funeral of someone really unpopular that your only attending out of moral duty then yes.

Not been on one since Reading away in the promotion season.

Scandalous!

My lad will be gutted if I don't take him and I'll be gutted if I have to pay that price so on this thought alone i'm going then, the Blades had better fucking win.

Football has gone crackers.

I'll be joining in with the twenties plenty protest if it goes ahead, good idea.

They'll clamp down on a few excitable young lads but do nothing about the racism that the ageing Despond regulars who sit at the back come out with. Mainly from a foul mouthed hag both on the coach and in the ground.

Edit

By "them" I mean the miseries who steward the coaches, not the club. Although the club did ban one fruitcake who gets sympathy all the time from them.

WOW £30, we were considering going given my new found Mojo but 2 deffo listening to Keifff Edwards now1

On my two previous visits, I've ended up with cans of lager from the nearby Asda in the car park. I was so looking forward to that again.

I will reluctantly pay for my son and I to watch the game but will ensure that not one additional penny is spent at or around the club on the day inc. programmes, food & drink or merchandise.

For those wanting to boycott but still wishing to get a Blades fix, you may want to get yourselves down to Sheffield FC...

Be done in time to catch Soccer Saturday or find a radio...marvellous! The Coach & Horses might be quite busy that morning :D

Pretty sure our most expensive ticket is £23, rising to £25 if you pay on the day.

Bolton are starting off at £30, so if they bumped the prices up in the same way we did, it'd be £32 on the day.

If you are on the KOP but our adult Cat A prices are for the Family Stand and South Stand are £27.00 - £29.00.

Totally agree with this stand. On holiday abroad so would have missed anyway.

For comparative purposes. Can anyone remember how much our prices were when we were boycotted by some away fans fairly recently?

Surely if you boycott Bolton then you should be boycotting most away matches? This being based purely on value for money.
  • £30 for the top tier at Bolton where you get a decent view and decent facilities
  • £23 for Scunny away with a crap view, in a shed with shit facilities
Surely Bolton is worth the extra £7 because the fan is getting a better match day experience? It's easy to look at the headline ticket price and say it's too much money, but you can't judge all League One away matches the same.

I'll stick my tin hat on!

"Match day experience" very Straffordesque!

I hear you but there's a point at which lines are drawn. It's a wavy line but a line nonetheless.

Ideally League 1 football should be much cheaper but we are now at the stage where its Championship prices for League 1 shite.

You'll get more value for your money entertaiment in Bolton by taking your £30 down to Shifnall Street.

The thing is while this is very commendable as with the Sky thing for Southend nowt will happen - or the Man Utd price Bollox in Jan.

What we need to do is link up with fans of all 71 other league clubs and demand a max price of say £20.00 like the PL supporters did.

It's a strange one this, facilities wise and opposition quality should come into it, but backing the team at the start of the season where we have a new manager and squad, think I'll still be going.

Only me and the lad, a family of four, then that's a different matter...

It's first game of season.

I see - so do we charge away fans £29 for Cat A? I'll be quite disappointed if we do, even if every other bugger is at it.

For what it's worth I think the gap between the Kop and the other two stands is ridiculous. I have a season ticket on the Kop and should I ever wish to swap stands, I'm looking at a huge increase. For non-renewals, the difference is £99...

Hopefully £30 for Bolton fans. If they think that's harsh try paying it when you've been stuck in this shithole of a league for six years

Some of the shops outside the ground I'd think they're used to driving out to the arse end of nowhere to get fucking rinsed.

If you were previously planning on going to Bolton but are now definitely not travelling, please sign below and we'll keep a running total of "missing" income for them.

I, for one, am not going.

I can make a lot of noise and complain, for the sum total of fuck all. Or I can keep my money in my pocket and hit them where it actually hurts. If enough people to it, they will take notice... eventually.

I love my club and have followed them from Carlisle to Plymouth. But that love for my club does not mean I have endless cash to line the pockets of footballers and the Football League.

The Football League sells itself throughout the world on its fantastic support at lower league levels. If they allow this level of pricing in the third division, they are complicit in the slow death of the game we all love.

So 1: £30
£30! Stuff that. Not going.

You'd have to keep going a long way down the road to find anything worthwhile. You'd probably end up in Blackpool before you found anything ;)
