I think Bogle wants PL. Wouldn’t be surprised if he leaves, but I doubt it will be to Leeds.

Do you not deem letting multiple talents contacts run out/forced to trigger extensions because we can't sign a deal fucking about?
Not without knowing details of what we have offered and what the players are asking for.

Agents advise players who are going to be in demand to run their contracts down because it makes perfect sense for the player. The game has changed significantly in that way. What do you suggest the club does other than throwing money we don’t have at it?

There needs to be an understanding that increasingly what we pay for a player is simply the cost of having that player play for us for the period of the contract with no guarantee of a return on them.

So do you think it's good business to have talent like Bogle subject to lowball offers and us having to accept because we can't sort out contract situations?
If you don’t know what we offered how do you know that Bogle has been subjected to lowball offers?

When Jebbo, Berge ect turned down contract offers that were high/respectable it came out - would you take the fact that nothing has been said about Bogles deal is a good sign or bad?

If we can get £7m and a chunky sell-on, unfortunately that would be good business given the dumb circumstances we have put ourselves in.

We've been criminally mismanaged by the mastermind behind "players play better in the final year of their contracts."
Good riddance to the bloke if / when he departs.

Re: Bogle. A player I'd like us to hold onto. He's got great attacking output and if he could be kept fit would probably improve the rest of his game. Still only 23 and loads of experience at a high level

You claimed that we had subjected Bogle to lowball offers.
Then you said you didn’t know what we offered.
Now you’re saying that nothing has been said about Bogle’s deal.

I'm sorry where did I claim that? I said that we're looking at lowball offers for Bogle - I.e 3mil from Leeds

for me bogle is a wingback if as rumoured were switching to 433 or 4231 which i am in favour of dont think theres a place for bogle in those set ups so ive a feeling we will sell and bring a more defensive right back in also this may well free the money up to move for brereton-diaz and if thats the case would be a good deal for us wonder if callum chambers might be wilders choice of right back think hes played there before

Do you know if we haven't offered a deal to bogle ?
That one wasn't Bogle specific - but would assume what we have offered isn't sufficient if we have as he hasn't signed owt

For me we can get better ,Lets be honest hes a shite defender just offered us something going forward but if we are going with a new formation will he be needed

It’s easy to manage contracts with hindsight. For every player we’re disappointed to see leave at the end of his contract, there is another we’re happy to see the back of!

Unfortunately we haven’t got the money to sign up every player to long term big money contracts.

It’s reported that we’d turned that down.
If Wednesday came in with an even lower bid would that be our club’s fault?

7m would be good with a year left but it would be a big challenge replacing him

However if we need to then I suggest Ki Jana Hoever from Wolves, who was on loan at Stoke

Injury record and contract situation should be part of the thought process.

FFP is the thing that's missing from the analysis. If you let multi million pound footballers walk for free it can hurt you later with your inability to spend under financial fair play rules. It's better to get a replacement on a four year contract.

He’s our best dribbler and probably currently most creative player

Good luck replacing him

If we move to wingers playing against him gives us a massive advantage hes wank at defending
He definitely isn't. Comparisons with Baldock and he doesn't come out on top defensively, but he's still the second best right wing (or full)back (defensively) we've had since Walker and Naughton

He might want premier league, but he's not good enough for it. His defensive issues hold him back, in my opinion, maybe better played further forward, worth a try.

Bogle started his career as a winger and there is benefit in converting him into wide right midfield. If we are going 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 there is a role for him imo in preference to full back where he exhibits defensive frailties.

If he doesn't want to stay we have to cash in on him. Nixon rarely gets it right at first instance so hoping the reference to a paltry £7m is wide of the mark. Weeds trying to low ball is more likely.

Berge in the same situation we were looking for £15m ending up with a reported £12m. Bogle with his age and playing experience warrants more than £7m imo and has to be a bottom line figure with a negotiation starting figure in the £10m region. There is a sell on fee to Derby to consider.

Whatever happens the Ndiaye mistake must not be repeated whereby in our desperation to get the money in we failed to have a ready made replacement in place.

To be fair, the fee Leeds got for Archie Gray should be factored in to any negotiations. Because that was ridiculous

If we're going to a back four I Don't care how occasionally good he is going forward. Being able to defend is an absolute must and for me last season too often he got taken apart. I get this is a level below, but with a different formation defensive strength outlays anything else. Bogle stays fine I like him as a player but if he goes even to a potential rival it wouldn't break my heart. Ask yourself this if we had Hamer or BBD running at him. A very big if I know. Who would you fancy to come out on top?

Just to join in on this. You've said move heaven and earth, so you think we should be paying Premier league money while in the Championship to secure them?
Also, with the above, are you saying if they won't sign terms we should be selling them last season, or two seasons ago in McBurnie's case?

I can’t believe the number of posters who constantly slate the club without knowing any facts.
Where have I slated the club here? They haven't sold Bogle to Leeds. If they do then that's another thing, but the £7m should come from somewhere else not from a promotion rival if we deem we need to sell him
