beebee , the pitch was a bit rough Saturday and probably will be for the rest of this season.

Ok thanks. Hope its on.

Hoping for a better ref than last season!

What are your predictions?
I'm thinking a 2-1 victory to us. You will give us a hard game, and games are getting harder the longer our run continues.
We aren't as cautious as we were under Uwe and will look to attack for the whole 94 minutes.

I'd probably go with that. I'd take a draw right now.

As for booing Weir - No chance. He was caught painfully out of his depth with a shit squad and no money to really fix the situation. It was a stupid job for him to take in retrospect and it doesn't mean we should have an axe to grind with him anymore.

It's a shrewd acquisition to appoint him as Asst. Manager by Brentford because he believes in a style of play that is easy on the eye and implementing it with a settled club with talented players is more achievable then it ever was going to be with us. So if it goes tits up with Mark Warburton, Weir could easily step in and do the job he wanted to do at Sheffield United much easier.

His brand of football certainly wasnt easy on my eyes, it was boring shite. He'll never make a good manager as he only has plan A

Agreed on the lack of booing of Weir but there will be a few comments aimed in his direction. With hindsight, he was the wrong man at the wrong time, even if he talked a very, very good game in July. I'd argue with the "no money" comment - this is a man who spent a considerable sum on Baxter and Cuvelier as well as bringing in 5 others. Perhaps the most damning critique is that of those 7 players only McGinn and Baxter are in the first team picture.

It'll be an interesting game on Wednesday but probably not one for the neutral as our approach will put the onus on Brentford to break us down while we look to hit on the counter. I'd take a draw given the teams' positions in the table and recent schedules.

Silver linings mate, at least Weir's sacking enabled us to secure Clough. Truth is, Weir's legacy is still being felt as we battle to get away from the relegation zone, so he did a lot of damage that Nigel has been asked to put right. At least we have a clough managing us! UTB

Bloody hell I went to that game. Absolute madness. 4 penalties, 3 red cards and it was only a draw.

I think a draw would be good. Ignoring the Crewe game, our last few results have been pretty good. But top of the league and unbeaten in 8 away is A+ form, and Brentfrod should probably win it.

and I didn't even see our equaliser :( your fans above throwing pennies down on us, so complained and told the steward to do something, didn't like what i said, ha that was me out. one of my most memorable games. Ref was a complete cock.

so what are your predictions?

I see you have your cup game with Forest at the weekend.

Our stewards have something of a reputation for being trigger happy with chucking away fans out. Sorry you missed the goal, I'd have been gutted.

I'll take a draw. I think Brentford will win it tho, can't ignore such exemplary form. I'm far more up for the cup game, and I think most of the players would probably say the same.

I was very gutted, walking back to the coach i heard a roar, ran up to a sheff fan who was effing and blinding, knew it was us, so ran back down to the gate to celebrate ha. Gutted but would have rather missed the goal and drew than not missed a goal and lost :)

Weir signed 12 players including loans:- Brandy, McGinn, Johns, McGinty, Coady, Taylor, Baxter, Cuvelier, Halls, King, Bunn, Lappin

9 out of the 12 hardly played for us and/or never will play.

I think the team should be offensive. Because the team need goals.

Tell you what? If the Blades are 3-4 nil up (allow me some licence, please) then there will be some relentless piss taking of Weir in the form of "you don't know what you're doing" or "that's why you were shite"

Weirder things have happened

.

Of course we will witness a low scoring bore fest - it's written

Where are you most vulnerable? At the back, wings or centre mid?
The additions of Brayford and Harris has made us look a lot steadier at the back we were awful everywhere at Crewe a couple of weeks ago, Having said that there are signs that we are improving albeit slowly and not everyone here will agree. Our real weakness is upfront.

I knew it was more than 7 but couldn't think of the others. Lappin, Hall and Bunn were loans so I'll disregard those (as I did with Coady). King's signing summed up Weir's reign; both promised much, under-delivered and left with hundreds of thousands of United's money.

Where are you most vulnerable? At the back, wings or centre mid?

I would have said at the back but that's changed since we got a right back in who's more interested in playing football than kicking the opposition and a left back who knows what it means to play at full back. Collins and Maguire are physically strong but troubled by pace - Donaldson is going to be a test for them.

Central midfield has its moments, all three are capable of losing the ball in dangerous positions. If Doyle plays it'll add solidity at the expense of movement but the three in the team at the moment have played well in the last two games (Fulham and Shrewsbury).

Our main weakness is putting the ball in the back of the net. I would imagine that Baxter will play meaning that your centre halves won't have anyone to mark - it'll be down to how they deal with Baxter's movement.

We're a better side than our league position would have you believe but you can't lose 8 of your first 10 games and expect to do well; we've been playing catch up ever since Weir left.
