Two nil win to United and play off qualification nailed on.

We need 2 points from 3 games, whichever way it takes.

Then the manager can regroup and form a plan.

With careful management of resources including resting key players we should scrape through to the Play-Offs. No point doing it the easy way if we can complicate it, then we can unfurl the masterplan which we have been keeping secret until the first leg of the Play-Off Semi, kept under wraps since August last year - PLAYERS ARRIVING IN THE FINAL THIRD. Watch out all you teams who have a settled side and players playing with confidence and knowing their role in their team, we are trying something completely new and unheard of. We are going to create chances and keep the opposition keeper interested.

We've created stacks of chances in most games this season, home and away. Finishing them has been the problem.

Sorry I disagree. We have played around the edges of the box and have knocked in hopeful crosses on occasions but rarely construct a proper chance for our forward players.

Look at the goals Done has managed to carve out from nothing situations.

We just do not get enough men in the box to challenge for the ball either first time in or to pick up the scraps.

How many games have the opposition keepers gone away from Bramall Lane without a serious save to make.

Hope we can seal it on Saturday. Then, maybe, play Adams, Higdon, Calvert-Lewin or Khan v Orient

Please let's not leave it till the Chesterfield game. Hopefully Rochdale will have messed it up themselves by then.

Now I agree with this statement. We have had this problem since Ched departed. We create little and actually our strikers do a good job on very little supply.

Is it the players' fault? Are they even "partially responsible" in the whole scheme of things?

The major thing now is getting Flynn, Murphy, Done and Davies (fully) fit. I'd rest them all Satdi, give a few others a run and target Orient for the start of the charge :)

No it's a combination of issues. Managers and players hold responsibility for performance. I'm guessing Clough gets irate because the players he picks don't follow his instructions. They either aren't good enough (and we have seen in patches they are) or aren't consistent enough which is symptomatic of where we are.

Isn't it a team game? They succeed as a team so guess what they fail as a team as well.

Yes it is a team game but the topic above was since we lost Ched and I'd even say it was Ched's purple patch which bucked the long standing weaknesses which were there for all to see in Ched's first two years with us too. Ched papered over cracks in Wilson's best season through his exceptional goal scoring feats, many of which he conjured out of nothing too. Thing is Wilson failed badly that season considering his centre forward scored over 30 goals; conversely David Jones performed a minor miracle!

Successful managers sign good players and always have goalscorers and a strong defence. They have a squad where everybody knows the style and pattern of play and everybody has a belief. It's only the manager who can create that belief, it doesn't come from the players who can only respond to the leader. Forever was it the case and forever will it be.

I reckon Bassett and Harris are the only managers who have had all that for us. Harris teams had the style with it, Bassett teams were simply exciting to watch but maybe not for the purists.

Bassett signed Deane and Agana for peanuts. He got himself Gayle at centre half. Hodges, Booker/ Webster and Gannon were essential to the mix despite their obvious weaknesses...and so on. Team spirit, organisation and teamwork were there for all to see. It would never have happened without the manager. It happened over a period when we saw incremental progress and we were desperately unlucky to get relegated that afternoon.

Yeovil had taken one point from 7 games.
Blades were 8 games undefeated away.

Who is the more confident?

OP means what exactly?

If you're searching for meaning from the OP best get that ignore button working again....
