He always comes across well when you hear him speak. I guess we just have to hope that he has a long term vision because short term some of the decisions have been puzzling.

I didn't learn anything from what is clearly a PR piece to combat the negative press they have attracted and to try and keep the fans on side. Rosen is making all the right noises blowing smoke up everyone's arses, bigging up the city, club and supporters, talking about knowing what it means to people and wanting to deliver them success without actually addressing any of the supporters' concerns or giving us any idea about how they plan on achieving their "singular goal" of getting to the promised land of the Sky money. It's all just the same old platitudes they've trotted out since day one while in reality things have got worse and worse. I'll wait and see if there's any benefit from the promised investment they keep teasing and if they actually do anything to leave the club in a better place than they found it before believing them.

It is a shame he didn't take up the multiple invitations from the Star to do an interview with them. I'd have enjoyed trying to navigate the paywall, kill the pop ups, swerve the click bait fake headlines to finally find Biggs & Hall taking it in turns to sniff Wilders boxers.
First question from The Star:

“So Steve, who is the biggest Blade of the two of you?”

They did the same with the Prince because COH won’t go through the traditional media first.

For me, journos and local media outlets are becoming less relevant anyway. I’d rather come on here, watch one of the United YouTube channels or read what fans are saying on Twitter than read some journalist’s opinion on a club I probably follow far more closely than they do.

I think some of them simply don’t like being bypassed. They’re no longer the gatekeepers, so when the club speaks directly to fans or uses other platforms, they get the face on and start kicking off.
Aye the owners making a complete balls-up of everything, not even paying for the club, but thankfully we no longer have journalists asking them questions because I can read what fans say on Twitter instead.
What a weird take.

I've just started listening. I love after everything that's going on recently he decides to kick the boot into Chansiri and Wednesday to start with! Thats either mighty brave or mighty stupid; Red Dwarf quote there if you've seen it!

Followed by the interviewer saying "You're the owner of the biggest commodity in Sheffield"!

A penny for Alan Knill's thoughts after that.

Actions speak louder than words, particularly when the words are between two friends having a chat.

This PR Bull5h1t with an"interviwer" putting spin on every answer. If they expect people to swallow this crap then they are deluded. Clear he thinks we are a bunch of simpletons who can't possibly understand the complexity of the business. Snake oil salesman of the worst kind.

That's like buying a car, scraping the side then saying you don't want to pay full price because it isn't worth that anymore....
I'd say it's more like buying a car, and finding out the old owner scrapped the side but had painted over it in paint that washed away the minute it rained

I mean - he clarifies within the opening lines that he's being interviewed by his longtime friend

If you went into it expecting a grilling then you went into it wrong

Some already have swallowed it. That's the problem, and they know who they are playing to. They're not daft.

I hope Jimmy Haslam will buy our club maybe with the Cleveland brown association jus need to get to prem with these boys first

That makes some sense and the first explanation for not paying the final £35 million. However, that had to be in the agreement with Prince Abdullah. If it was why would he take them to court?
Maybe there were something about not getting promoted in the deal. I certainly remember there being rumours around Prince and some Promotion stuff.

I suspect this is probably a legal loophole they've found, which is odd as Prince is usually good with loopholes.

I've got no dog in the fight other than wanting the best for United.

I also don't know what's going off behind the scenes or with the legal wrangles.

One thing I am comfortable with, however, and that's not taking anything Smith, Hall, Biggs, RS, or anyone close to Wilder say as read.

I can't agree , especially if what's coming to them is a punishment for MY club
I'm honestly not asking anyone to agree, mate.

I just think it's about time someone paid a very high price for their arrogant and flagrant fraudulence, dishonesty and cheating. Sheffield United Football Club is rotten from the head downwards (imo) and that isn't going to change for some time unfortunately. I can think of no better example than this pair of snidey, corrupt shysters to pay a heavy personal price. Maybe future scumbags of their ilk will think twice about doing what they have done in the future if they are made an example of.

I've loved United for most of my life and I never thought that I wouldn't renew and I'd stop going to games but football in general is just about dead to me now thanks to all the cheating, rule bending, dishonesty and the self-serving manipulating of all that made the game great that has gone on for the last few years.

Enjoy.

How do you know it’s flagrant corruption? Are you privy to the contract?

In the last minute of the pod, confirms they are bringing in new investment partners- at least that’s some good news 🤣
Can’t really see what people are so outraged about them putting this out- it’s all a bit ‘meh’ - doesn’t sway me one way or the other.

I do find it funny that all the people feeling jilted by not doing this interview (Staton, Hall, Biggs) are now saying "He may be confident about points deductions but that's not what I've heard" almost on cue

But being out of the loop because of their actions in the past hasn’t meant they’ve shown any bias whatsoever.

Good to see local journo’s with principals l say.

I’ve just listened to the broadcast; I found it interesting, particularly the bits about the value of the academy and the possibility of further investors coming on board. Actions speak louder than words of course so I’m not getting the bunting out yet.
Fair play to the owners for finally making a statement…of course as day follows night there will be some on here who will pile in with all the obvious criticism but at least we now have the owner’s view of things. It beats silence doesn’t it?
