I think he'll have a top flight career, he has all the attributes for it. Reckon we could afford him?

He played well today. Dirties goal was I hate to say it top class header. Two keepers would struggle to get that...
He did wince every time he kicked the ball, but he is a really good commanding keeper. Much better all round that Moore, who is good for this league..

The first half save was awesome...

Be nice to know how many who slag him off have played keeper at any level....

Man of the match for me. He's so good at plucking crosses out of the air. Brilliant save from the header. It's a good save to get a hand to it but it needed a strong hand or it would have gone in regardless. Great punch near the end through a crowd of players as well.

It's just a shame he can't kick!

He can bloody pass though

Quite a lot on here who are members of the Union, and I don't think he's had a slagging from those in the know. However, he does have his faults. We all do.

He conceded another goal where the crowd are left wondering whether or not he should have done better. A good keeper pulls off a good save there and earns you the points (today it didn’t cost us, but it has on other occasions). For me, Blackman is able backup, but not somebody I would want to play too many games for us.

He is a much better keeper than Moore, even if he 'doesnt communicate' the defence seem a lot more confident in front of him, probably because he comes off his line and commands his area. I still think next summer we should sign a better keeper, ward from Liverpool etc. But right now he should be number 1 no doubt. Moore is a good backup championship keeper but that's his standard I think.

We seem to pick up more points when Blackman is in the net. Maybe wrong but could anyone get any facts up on points gained with each keeper in the net? Blackman is brilliant at coming and collecting balls in the air and very rarely drops them which takes a lot of pressure off the defence. He is very brave and comes for crosses well away from the comfort of his 6 yard box. The only major bollock I can remember him dropping is the one at qpr which was just a freak accident. Moore is a better communicator and better at kicking but I just feel like we look more solid with Blackman in the net. They are both good keepers and we’re lucky to have them both.

He was very good today bar the kicking and his reaction to the header, which was as I said before, very slow going down for low balls. I suppose it’s a long way?

Very impressed that a loan player from a Premiership club played today when he was clearly not fully recovered from his groin injury. He looked very uncomfortable when he walked off at half time and at the end,so well done Jamal, showed today that you are not a 'big time charlie' you are a big part of the SUFC renaissance, well done young man,top marks !!

They are both decent keepers, I’d say both are average Championship level.

Moore is more consistent, steadier, rarely makes errors.

Blackman makes better saves but makes the occasional error.
I think Blackman has the potential to be a far far better keeper than Moore though.

The aspect I like with Blackman is
If we holding on in the last 5 minutes, opposition teams tend to put plenty of crosses into the box.
This is where Blackman is far better than Moore, he seems to calmly pluck crosses out of the air.
He’s so tall, he doesn’t even need to jump.

Blackman has played 21 games with 13 wins, 1 draw and 7 losses.

Moore has played 12 games with 3 wins, 3 draws and 6 losses. Moore also has 1 FA cup win against Preston.

It’s Blackmans shirt for the rest of the season in my opinion, just needs work on his kicking.
Also too many players in our team can only kick with one foot, JOC being one of em. Had to chase the ball accross the pitch cos he couldn’t clear it with his right foot. Thus being hopelessly out of position for Leeds goal.

His miraculous save today was Seamanesque.

Something Semenesque in my pants with the quality of that save haha.. So many times I've seen those go in against us. Almost expect it now. 30 yards and 5 yards are our Achilles distances.

His high ball taking is worth the odd could have done better moment for me. Takes so many chances away from them.

I was happy when Moore was brought back in and he didn't let us down until Wolves but it wasn't a terrible let down considering the result and quality competition in net. Today though, Blackman showed us a bit of what we've been missing with him out the side. His laid-back approach to playing and his commanding of the area on top of being fucking massive really seems to inspire confidence in the back line and I think the fans too.

That save was outstanding and he had a good game - looked confident!

The problem is, we have 2 average keepers. They have differing attributes to one another. If you put them together you would probably have the best GK in the division.

People are too quick to judge for the goal.. I do feel that he should've saved it, however, he must have caught around 10 crosses yesterday. Moore wouldn't have caught ANY of them. He may have punched a few or even hoped the defence clear on his behalf. Those catches alone saved at least 4 or 5 risky situations developing.

Blackman is edging it for me

I thought it was harsh for him to be dropped when Moore came back from injury in the first place.

I don't want to sound like a moaner, but he really could have done better with their goal. Had an absolute age to watch it travelling towards him before he moved.

I like Blackman and Moore. But there is a sense that every shot seems to go in. I think there was a stat on the forum over the last week or so which supports that. Blackman made a blinding save yesterday, but it does feel that most half decent efforts go in.

The goal yesterday for instance, I keep hearing it was a great header, but my thought at the time and from watching it a few more times is that it seems really soft and Blackman should do better.
