Blackman moves back to Sheffield

Derby are taking the piss. They're trying to buy up every decent talent in the division. Even when they already have players in the same positions who are amongst the best in the division. I really hope they fail. It would be nice to see someone spend £30m in the Championship and have nothing to show for it.

True, but I'd love that club to be Wednesday! This FFP is a joke!

Blackman would've been fantastic for Wednesday too, exactly what they need. Shame. I'm sure he'll enjoy Derby's bench though.

Apart from us and Forest.

Who was the right back from the late 90's / early 2000 who moved from us to the pigs? Earl Barrett? What a s**t player if I remember correctly.

Bromby, Quinn A, and Geary have to be Blades based on the fact that they were part of our best season in years, getting promoted into the Premiership.

Cresswell, for his cheeky "I'm behind you" goal, and for the fact that he ran himself into the ground at Wembley, as Evans was sitting with his feet up in Prison at the time, gets an honorary Blade badge.

From memory:

Bromby - soft pig never completely committed to the cause but just about made a Blade
Quinn A - unconvincing player but scored against them, so obviously a Blades legend
Geary - 100% Blade
Bradders - Unitedite and proper Blade
Morrison - Useless little tit - Pig
Jeff King - Won over the doubters with some truly horrific agricultural tackling - a Blade
Curran - Uber pig who was deluded enough to think his popularity at S6 would transfer with him. When he ran out to the Kop on that first game I couldn't get near enough to the fences to lob coins and gob on him, as it was already 20 deep- Super pig
Marrwood - past his best at BDTBL but scored in Division 1, so made a Blade
J P McGovern - Lightweight here then went there and from what I've heard wasn't much better - Pig on balance
Cresswell - A trier although another past his best when he arrived here but just about scraped the Blades grade.
Windass - Narky little herbert who I disliked but did score some important goals for us. Not a proper Blade due to his pre final flounce in 2003 - Pig
Varadi - Sold too young (what, Blades cashing in????) and did far more there than here, so has to considered a Pig.
Stainrod - ditto
Treacy - pig
McMahon - big headed pig
Franz Carr - 6-0 Spurs! has to be a Blade

I think that is a fair minded and reasoned summary.

ISC

Morrison hardly made any appearances, but I remember one performance where he looked the business, what happened after that don't know. Quinny was okay, Cressy gets an unfair dig as usual, Varadi definitely a pig, don't know about Stainrod.

who's to say he wouldn't have been on the bench at the sty, especially due to their foreign policy of squad rotation?

Varadi definitely a pig, don't know about Stainrod.

Varadi is a Londoner and we signed him from Letchworth. Stainrod was a Wendy fan despite angering Wendy fans at Oldham in 1980 after getting Terry Curran sent off (a riot followed and Wendy fans were banned from attending the next three or four away matches). Varadi showed a lot of promise and scored goals for us in the 1978-79 season before he moved to Everton. Did well at Wendy in the mid 1980s. Stainrod was talented and scored good goals for us but was inconsistent and often clowned about. a few times he got dropped from the team because he showed poor attitude in training and Harry Haslam had enough of him and sold him to Oldham. Did well at QPR but wasnt much of a success at Wendy (some Wendy fans hadnt forgetten the incident at Oldham with Curran)

Cheers Silent, didn't know Stainrod was a pig

Whoops - seems the piggies read Blackman's statement

. “This is a fantastic club - great history, fantastic facilities, great fan base and a great manager. It is all geared to the Premier League."

and foolishly thought he meant them :D

“When I heard of Derby’s interest this is the only place I wanted to come,” he said

Rather Derby, Wolves, Middlesboro, anybody doing it than the pigs.

Talking of taking the piss..
