Any sell on clause for us in this deal? Do we get a fiver? bag of French Fries? or a copy of Razzle?

They were linked with a lot of good players they didnt get the last time they had a season ticket drive

Absolutely true. It was nonsense about Jordan Rhodes and even Didier Drogba . While Blackman would have been a decent-ish signing (not that he's going to Wendy) it's hardly game-changing investment (c) McCabe. Surely with the reported £150m on offer to get into the PL, now would be the time to push the boat out. Nobody can guarantee promotion but signings such as Charlie Austin or Patrick Bamford would surely be worth a punt?

Vardy's a pig ;)

Vardy's a suggestion even the pigs wouldn't believe.

Sure I saw a news item over Christmas that said some European club were lining up a 30 million bid for Vardy?

We should sign Ashley Flynn before someone else does!

Can't see it, Phil. Vardy's having 'one of those seasons' which will never be repeated at that level. Still, must make Leicester fans worried about losing their best players.

At least we don't have these worries!

Could be a blip, I agree, still, he made the record books and gave the newspapers something to write about. Didn't he also find out who is real Dad was, or something like that?

Well you're already screwed with Bromby, Geary and Quinny (A.)

not to mention Blades Legend Bradders.

I think it means supporter rather than player although I did work with a guy a few years ago who switched from us to the dark side. Beyond comprehension to switch any allegiance as far as I'm concerned let alone from one rival to another.

From memory:

Bromby - soft pig never completely committed to the cause but just about made a Blade
Quinn A - unconvincing player but scored against them, so obviously a Blades legend
Geary - 100% Blade
Bradders - Unitedite and proper Blade
Morrison - Useless little tit - Pig
Jeff King - Won over the doubters with some truly horrific agricultural tackling - a Blade
Curran - Uber pig who was deluded enough to think his popularity at S6 would transfer with him. When he ran out to the Kop on that first game I couldn't get near enough to the fences to lob coins and gob on him, as it was already 20 deep- Super pig
Marrwood - past his best at BDTBL but scored in Division 1, so made a Blade
J P McGovern - Lightweight here then went there and from what I've heard wasn't much better - Pig on balance
Cresswell - A trier although another past his best when he arrived here but just about scraped the Blades grade.
Windass - Narky little herbert who I disliked but did score some important goals for us. Not a proper Blade due to his pre final flounce in 2003 - Pig
Varadi - Sold too young (what, Blades cashing in????) and did far more there than here, so has to considered a Pig.
Stainrod - ditto
Treacy - pig
McMahon - big headed pig
Franz Carr - 6-0 Spurs! has to be a Blade

I think that is a fair minded and reasoned summary.

1 point deducted for mentioning Bromby without squeezing in the phrase 'elegant stick insect' :)

In a ruck, my money would be on the stick insect.

Bromby never liked the physical side of the game and needed Morgs at the side of him constantly.

Haha! I meant more along the lines of charting flits - it seems from memory that far more came to the light side than went to the dark, but a definitive chart could prove "once a Blade, always a Blade" (barring a couple of anomalies).

He looks really happy to have signed for Derby.

Bromby, Quinn A, and Geary have to be Blades based on the fact that they were part of our best season in years, getting promoted into the Premiership.

Cresswell, for his cheeky "I'm behind you" goal, and for the fact that he ran himself into the ground at Wembley, as Evans was sitting with his feet up in Prison at the time, gets an honorary Blade badge.

He looks absolutely shocked to have signed with them – which is fair enough, as I'm very surprised too. Thought Derby would be bringing in better players this window.

It's like the old Father Ted episode, when he kick Bishop Brennan up the arse, and the Bishop is so shocked, he can't move or speak for days

I'll just add Wilf Rostron into that lot. Promotion winner with us back in 89/90 and scored a cracker against Leeds and who can forget the one at Leicester?! ...... BLADE

On a side note today has reminded me of the section in flashing blade, "they refused to play for Wedn###ay"

:)
