Adkins knows nowt. Remember that complete duffer he signed for Southampton in League One? French guy. Rob Schneiderlin or something. He was pants!
Schneiderlin signed for Southampton in June 2008. Which was a couple of years before Adkins took charge of Southampton. Adkins does indeed tend to take credit for apparently 'signing' players such as Schneiderlin to take them through the leagues.

I'm sure he will be spotted at Meadowhall or somewhere soon

Think plenty trusted Clough at the start of last season but when he sold Maguire and fell out with Butler and Collins and replaced them with a collection of full backs, midfield players and young 'uns that were either out of their depth or injury prone, then I think that trust suddenly disappeared.
And due to his record at other clubs quite a lot didn't. I don't think he chose to sell Harry either. What happened between him, Collins and Butler isn't public knowledge so it's difficult to know whether or not he was in the right or made a big mistake.
It's worth checking out Fergie's rules of management.

Shhhhhhhhhh!

also did anyone else see a strange similarity in how he described Woolford.... I could have played an interview from Clough and changed one of his signings to Woolford....

The interview I heard, Adkins spoke of Woolford always being fit for just about every game, got promoted from this league and described him as "robust" several times.

Given how we need a new defender, perhaps we should look to non-league for inspiration. This guy is on trial for Gainsborough Trinity - ex Blade youngster Dominic Roma replaced him in a friendly this week against Lincoln.

I'd give you some more info about him, but all Google searches seem to be clogged up with some other guy with the same name. Maybe we should just sign him and find out.

There's been a terrible mistake Foxy - this seems to have been merged into a different thread.

Will the world not give unsigned defender Billy Sharp the recognition he deserves? His entire life must be made up of inadvertently-merged threads.

Has been 3 times this week

Max, I'm disappointed - you have taken on the mantle of s24su.com newshound, apparently possessed of 4 legs, speedier than a bullet, and able to scour the variety of sites that exist solely for the purpose of repeating the same story over and over. Yet the news of Billy being seen in that cathedral to consumerism and you haven't taken a photo of this event? It surely suggests that a deal is done if Billy is willing to open his wallet in good old Sheffield, doesn't it?

C'mon fella, you've set standards, we expect so much more from you, yet you let this pass without so much as a whisper.....wassup geezer?

Given that he's just signed for Wigan I would guess that Will Grigg would have joined us given the chance - at 24 and more prolific than Sharp over the last few seasons. I'd say he was the better option of the 2.

I'm more prolific than Grigg. I scored tons more than him last season. That doesn't mean i'm better than him as my goals were at Goals on a Monday night.

Wayne Rooney scored less than Grigg last season. Who would you prefer Grigg?

If only you could have some portable device that you always carry with you and contained a phone. You'd think someone would invent one.

I'm struggling on this one BB.....maybe a Star Trek thingy? With all manner of technical thingymajigs to enable the user to take a photo etc...if only...maybe Max should have a pencil and paper on his person, ready to capture a likeness? When all else fails, a good old piece of graphite never fails so I've heard.

I've just seen Billy Sharp in the Bramall Lane car park.

Here's my proof:

My battery was dead on my phone so I drew it instead.

I'm not sure you understand the context to my point - I was responding to the question posed re: who, out of strikers we could potentially attract, is more prolific and has a better record than Sharp . At L1 level and taking into our financial constraints, I think Grigg would have been a good and realistic buy us (maybe even better than you!).

He is proven at that level and I would be fairly confident he'll get 20+ again next season if he stays injury free.

This has to be the longest running saga in the history of the universe. Raheem Sterling could cancel his transfer to Man City and then sign for them all over again in the time it would take us to get this deal done.

I've known popular animated sitcoms that haven't been running as long as this story.....get him signed FFS!

Its softly softly catch a monkey by Adkins and the board with Cellino and his team. Leeds want rid of Sharp who is surplus to requirements , and they just keep touting him in the shop window , of pre season friendlies .

The pathetic ( they know as much as we do ) reporting by the journalist on The Star, make matters worst , as they best guess whats happening . Adkins needs to give Leeds a ultimatum deadline , and if they don't accept , tell them to bollocks and move on.

Adkins says Sharp loves SUFC , but pound to a penny , he will still want a good salary and contract .

He is a pro footballer and has a agent . He will want and do the best for BS not SUFC.

Put up or shut up . Concentrate on the CB issue, its more of a priority IMO

He's at the Lane and signing a contract when Adkins finishes his Q&A.

Here's proof, a recent photo of his car parked outside:

Not overly concerned with the reasons why Maguire, Butler and Collins went /or were not considered for the first team but the facts were we where 3 centre halves down from virtually word go last season and the manager (the so-called expert in putting the team together) elected to fill two key positions for most of the campaign with full backs, an out of his depth teenager, or a midfield player. That was an obvious problem in why we didn't go up last season, if supporters could see it and the manager couldn't, or was unwilling to do owt about it, then supporters were quite with in their rights to have a gripe about it imo.

Bush , whether or not the Ferguson or Clough Snr way of management is still applicable, or now a little outdated , is open to opinion . What we do know on all things SUFC , is that the situation we had had CB last season ultimately was one of the factors that cost us promotion and Clough his job.

The name of the game would to get ready made replacements , and not play players out of position , who may be uncomfortable , which then reflects in there performance .

History tells us we failed , so we start again with a clean sheet , and hoping Adkins solves all our problems, self made or not.
