I would want us to make deals with that L**ds owner. He is trying to get Murphy on the cheap and I doubt if he would pay the fee in full
 
Nothing in that article to suggest that the Blades are actually 'closing in on Billy Sharp'. In fact it leads me to think that he may well sign for Wigan rather than us.

He's saying that negotiations will be handled delicately and amicably as their owner is temperamental and easily rubbed up the wrong way.....or that's how I read it anyway.

Also saying United will probably get there eventually but we may have to reach a compromise.

to be fair, DAVE78 does get a lot of things right

Don't know, but wasn't it documented that Clough did want to sign Holt, but the fk up that was the play-offs might well have put pay to that?

DAVE78 may have jumped the gun a little, but there's no doubt he gets some info

It was after the play-offs that Dave78 said Holt was going to be the first summer signing, which was soon proved incorrect.

The toaster has broken, surely there's not some kind of correlation between one of my favourite bits of kit going on the blink and the Maxmeister becoming an ever increasing parody of one of those 1940's Hollywood reporters with a sherman tank of a camera, 1940's trilby, and pencil-thin moustache...and all this achieved at the tender age of 15!

But we ruled out the signing of Holt before the decision was taken to sack Clough? Clough's quotes below.

"We'd have loved to have kept Jason, but we thought he was just too similar to Stefan Scougall who we have under contract.

"We brought Jason in because Stefan had a few knocks and niggles and for him to score the amount of goals he did from midfield was excellent.

"Jason did brilliantly for us but we just need a different kind of player next season, we need more of a physical presence because when Chris Basham has played there he has done ever so well and shown what a quality player he is."

Not making excuses for him, just stating that he also gets things right

It could also be argued that whilst some might want to defend the poster and other posters for that matter, some want to continually look for reasons to pull them to pieces

Posters either take on board the "info" or they ignore it. I see no reason to look any deeper than that

Personally, I welcome it as it stimulates debate. You don't see it that way, then fine, ignore it and move on to the next thread and leave us mugs to cream over the scraps of useless bits of info :)

Anyway, who'd want a midfielder who can get forward and score match winning goals:rolleyes: There's no wonder he got the boot, there really isn't. Scouggs has scored about as many times as a nun in pre school and Basham who i really like scored one all season, albeit he played at CB most of the season.

I've an idea, lets fuck goalscorers off, even Done got put outwide after scoring a hatful and McNulty got benched alot after he scored, maybe Clough just didn't like us scoring too many:D

Sorry about mentioning one of Cloughs' downfalls again but i couldn't help it after reading those comments regarding Holt.
