probably proud of the fact. can't blame him tbh ;)
Yeah agree!

I’ve come to appreciate Billy for what he is. A great goal poacher.

He was underwhelming on his previous stints for us and I’ve never liked his stroppy “me” persona. I still think he’s very limited in some parts of his game. Not much pace, can’t dribble, can’t win a ball in the air(Fleck is smaller but wins far more). But he holds the ball up well and is an instinctive finisher, one of the best. He’s also a dyed in the wool Blade and gives 100% every match.

I still don’t think that makes him immune to being dropped or subbed, but if you take him off the pitch you need to have someone else on the pitch with that finishing ability. And there aren’t so many of them in our price range!

exactly..a while ago someone posted 'we need a fast version of Billy Sharp'.. i replied 'you mean like Sergio Aguero?'. 50 million to you mate :D

All correct answers, I was amazed at Jimmy Greaves stats, absolutely staggering.

Saw Greaves play against us on a number of occasions. Brilliant striker, he was a mate of Hodgy's, I think they roomed together a few times on England duty.
Always seemed to have a bit of a laugh with each other on the pitch. When Greaves had the ball at his feet with his back to goal and a defender up close behind him you had to worry, he could turn and shoot on target in a split second.

Poor mans Billy Sharp basically. :)

No, it isn’t.

He’s scored more goals for United than he has for any other club. But the article says that the majority of his goals have come in a United shirt. They haven’t. He’s scored 76 of his 208 goals for us. That means 132 of his goals have been scored for other clubs. So, the majority of his goals have not come in a United shirt.

He would only have scored the majority of his goals for us if he’d bagged more than 104 (half).

I’d have expected a journalist to know this.

Hopefully it will be true before he hangs up his boots!
Only 29 to go (or is it now only 28?)

Didn’t someone on here say a few weeks ago he would not score another ten goals for this club?

Past Halfway there...

The greatest British goalscorer that has ever lived, nobody even close.

Bert saw him 4 times, 3 times in Sheffield and once at White Hart Lane.

All his goals were scored at the highest level.

What a gamble it was by Alf Ramsey to play Geoff Hurst over Jimmy Greaves in the 1966 World Cup final.
