have a like for working out the na's .. great effortAre you sure?
I heard that the screws at Wormwood locked him up and started singing "Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na-Na We've got Billy Sharp, Billy Sharp, We've got Billy Sharp "
Yeah agree!probably proud of the fact. can't blame him tbh![]()
exactly..a while ago someone posted 'we need a fast version of Billy Sharp'.. i replied 'you mean like Sergio Aguero?'. 50 million to you mateYeah agree!
I’ve come to appreciate Billy for what he is. A great goal poacher.
I still don’t think that makes him immune to being dropped or subbed, but if you take him off the pitch you need to have someone else on the pitch with that finishing ability. And there aren’t so many of them in our price range!
All correct answers, I was amazed at Jimmy Greaves stats, absolutely staggering.
No, it isn’t.
He’s scored more goals for United than he has for any other club. But the article says that the majority of his goals have come in a United shirt. They haven’t. He’s scored 76 of his 208 goals for us. That means 132 of his goals have been scored for other clubs. So, the majority of his goals have not come in a United shirt.
He would only have scored the majority of his goals for us if he’d bagged more than 104 (half).
I’d have expected a journalist to know this.
he’s from firth park/ shiregreen isn’t he?
My dad worked with Sharps uncle.
Apparently Sharp is from Pitsmoor, that’s what his relative told my dad on many occasions.
Got a feeling that Dane is off the Woodthorpe ?not sure tbf - thought is was the Manor like Dane W, but could be doing him down there.
UTB
He's originally from Birley, his parents still live there.
That’s some trek from Birley to Ecclesfield where he was schooled
The greatest British goalscorer that has ever lived, nobody even close.Saw Greaves play against us on a number of occasions. Brilliant striker, he was a mate of Hodgy's, I think they roomed together a few times on England duty.
Always seemed to have a bit of a laugh with each other on the pitch. When Greaves had the ball at his feet with his back to goal and a defender up close behind him you had to worry, he could turn and shoot on target in a split second.
Poor mans Billy Sharp basically.![]()

Bert saw him 4 times, 3 times in Sheffield and once at White Hart Lane.
All his goals were scored at the highest level.
