Berge

In this day and age in England, you can not carry players who dissappear for 70% of the game. We have the best ever, in my 45 odd years, in illiman and he tracks back, wins the ball all the time in the opposition half, alway looks for a positive move when he has the ball. Compare and contrast with Berge. 3 years and he has so much ability, I can only assume it is in his head.

I will not bat an eye lid if that was his last game for us and we manage to move him on. Unfortunately I expect silly money to come in for illiman and we will be stuck with Berge, when the pressure will be higher as he will be our most talented player.

Time to move on.
Nothing to do with Berge being about 7 inches taller and having at least 3 stone more to carry around the pitch then? He'd need another lung to be able to run as much as Illiman.

New excuse number 452, FFS. no bigger than Deano and he ran his bollocks off for us. He is meant to be a box to box midfielder. Talent to burn but lacks that winner instinct, if he was the natural athelete of a Jags for instance ( the young midfielder version) he would have been picked up the season we went down. There is a reason 20 odd scouting teams in the top flight have not come knocking. All listed above in this thread.

So now you're saying he is not a natural athlete as opposed to it being a mental thing. At least you're starting to realise that all players do not have the same physiology.

It’s very easy to grasp whether someone knows much about football by there opinions on berge

If you don’t rate sander you don’t have a scooby and probably sit on the Kop shouting at the Ref all game whilst sat in someone else’s seat

I someone who has done a UEFA A License course can tell he is a top top player who could play champions league

It just goes to show that the UEFA A licence isn't worth the paper it's printed on.

He's played Champions League. Doesn't mean much, does it? Really? The mere fact of playing for a team that gets spanked in the CL?

He's got the attributes to be a quality player but not really in the system he play. He needs to be in a team who dominate possession. Unlike Norwood, he goes missing regularly. Doesn't make himself available constantly and is too slow on the ball.

Have you been to the lane this season ?

Bar ndiaye he has been our best player this season

I forgot that we based players off the last 2 games on this forum 🤷‍♂️

I know you have a reputation of talking absolute cobblers to uphold, but the UEFA A Licence is possibly pushing the envelope of bullshit a bit far

Plenty of champions league teams are after him though aren’t they

I mean Anel has more goals and 1 less assist and plays RCB and mcburnie was joint top scorer in the championship up to yesterday so he's at best 4th. And I'd say Norwood and Egan have been better than Sander over the season so far.

To continue your logic, surely if he's taller and larger he also has bigger lungs??

I am aware of your apparent background in sport so you know exactly the point I am making. Either you are choosing to be pedantic or a dick. No need for either at Christmas xx

Silly people being very unfair on Berge,

He is just back from injury (and like Fleck he takes time to get back to his best)
He was playing very well until hacked down late in the first half
He still managed create for the third goal
He had to play deep after Egan's sending off (acknowledge not his best position)

Give the man time and everyone will be calling him a Rolls Royce again!

He's behind Wes, Baldock, Egan, Anel, Norwood and Ndiaye. You could argue Doyle has had more impact.

Lets be reyt, heres the top 5 players in the league according to whoscored, weighted so injuries dont count.

Theres 3 united players (a stunning achievement), but not sander. I like the lad, but fallow is yet again talking pure arse.

But dont stop being you FallowfieldBlade , you take your lashings like a champ.

You aren’t wrong they have been class but before nerves injury he was one of the best in the league

It’s laughable that after 2 games when he is clearly not fully fit he is now not good enough

Let’s be clear here, anyone who thinks Sander is 4th or 5th best player or less thinks that Worcester sauce is better than Hendo’s, Bella emberg was more beautiful than Margo Robbie, Boyzone more talented than the Beatles or Stones, Gary Megson better than Harry or Wilder, Waddle better than Currie

It’s time to be honest with them, they won’t see the way but let’s not pretend that they ain’t weirdos either lol

The Blades fan base always have high expectations, based on a players transfer fee, or his reputation.
Berge, McBurnie and Brewster are all very different characters, so they will or will not gevelop along different paths.
Doyle and McAtee have good reputations from a great club.
The five of them will all come good IMO.
Berge, McBurnie and Brewster all arrived as expensive players, but it’s no coincidence that they have all suffered from serious or prolonged injury spells, and they are subjected to frustration by fans.
McAtee gets some stick, because he looked good in his Man City U23 clips, but this is his first season in grown up football, unlike Doyle, who has one loan season under his belt already and it shows!
Berge has played through Covid and a very serious career threatening injury.
Brewster looks like a lost cause, but McBurnie shocked everyone with his turnaround as a goal scorer.
FFS just give them all a break and try to balance your expectations more reasonably please.
Do you think Sander Berge has done less than we should expect, the same or more than we should expect in the minutes he’s played? Given his ability, not his price tag.

To be honest, I expected more, especially when I saw him play in earlier games. His role was more defensive then, and he should have developed more end product now he has an attacking role.
