I personally couldn’t give a shiny you know what if he is 6 foot odd and doesn’t put himself about etc etc, they should always be lower down on the metric of what merits being quality to any position other than CB for me

I also think we get too carried away with, as a fan base, with the he is clearly good so he should be this or that

I mean don’t get me wrong I get it but for example Kante would be quality for us but just because he would be better than anything we have doesn’t mean he should be playing CAM for France or also it shouldn’t mean he should be changing his natural game for that, if he naturally feels he prefers playing as a deeper mid then let him play that

Now for sure you can argue if you want that the league we play in dictates a certain way and that Sander doesn’t naturally suit that way that’s fine but it doesn’t mean he is suddenly in the meh camp

And me personally if I was sander I wouldn’t want to be your stereotype English midfielder when you can better playing elsewhere
