Not including loans, Berge was far and a way our most talented, in fact, our BEST midfielder.

He was too good for the Championship. We never saw him down tools & he could have done easily done so & handed in a request at any stage, but he didn't.

The statement couldn't throw him under the bus harder if we tried. Also, the grief & slander a lot of you throw his way as well...
A lot of recency bias. For about 70% of the season, Norwood was carrying the midfield and in the Championship Team of the week almost weekly.

He fell off at the end after shouldering so much, including Berge missing 9 matches injured, again.

We could end up stronger at the end of this and have players more fit for purpose.

The statement the club has put out is piss poor, lacking in class and will only serve to put players off joining us.

Would you want to sign for us knowing that at some point down the line we could throw you under the bus like this?
Can't see a great deal wrong with it really. Perhaps I missed the bit about the bus.

Really looked the part until his injury and at the back end of the season. Form with him in the team was automatic, without, play offs. The club statement is pathetic and unprofessional. It's been a pattern the past few years. Obviously orchestrated to create some type of populist sentiment and preceded by similar sentiment from the mouthpieces. The biggest take away is he things Burnley are better than us on and off the pitch. That's depressing.

I don’t care about Bur-Gerr (unambitious WANKER),
He don’t care about me.
All I care about,
Is Vinny Su-zee.

I Burnley is the best he can do, then he won't be much of a loss. I would say there is a high chance he will be back in the Championship next season regardless with that move.
Doubt it there are only two relegation places left and i wouldn't back Burnley too take one of them even with someone else's money.

Honestly, I loved Norwood, but for me he's not had a good game since January, before the World Cup even. He's just not Premier League standard. Berge was.

I don't think it's wrong of me to say the statement throws him under the bus, it is snide. It was still an open-wound following Illi. But, the Souza news softens the blow.

If we can add Hamer before 3pm Saturday, a midfield of Slimane, Souza and Hamer sounds unreal. We still need at least 3 more after that though...

Sad he’s gone but all the £35m to a top European club has been shown up for the load of bollocks it always was.

First bid and he’s gone though. Sheffield’s hotels will be down on revenue in December/January going forwards.

I will really miss watching him play for the Blades.
An integral part of our promotion winning team, and I’m pretty sure we couldn’t have done it without him.
I think he’ll be a great success at Burnley, and like Hecky, I’m very disappointed to see him go.
Good luck to him, except when he’s up against the Blades of course, and I hope he remembers his time at the Lane fondly.I certainly do.

Going to miss him. Classy player and he was excellent second half of last season. Feels like it finally clicked and now we sell!
Not sure he leaves if we keep Ndiaye.

He was the highest paid player at the club and wanted even more by the sounds of it. He never had a relegation clause by all accounts either so we were paying him a PL wage in the Championship.

It about treating people with respect. It goes a long way in football. How many times when a player signs for a club will they say 'I spoke to so and so about the club before I joined'? Happens all the time. We're in danger of getting a reputation for not meeting iur obligations on time (in regards transfer installments and player bonuses) and also tarnishing the reputations for those who play for us when they leave. These are the sort of things which make it more difficult for us to do deals.

It’s a see you next Tuesday’s trick.

This is the way to do it; sell the main man for circa 15m up front then selling a part time classy player for the same money suddenly seems like a win (now get some players over the goddam line!)
