Same here. It’s always a bit of a gamble with younger players, but for years we’ve bemoaned the fact that other club’s have had real quality younger players from top clubs while we’ve been left with dross. The only decent ones that I can recall were Matt Phillips and Gary Cahill but they were at smaller clubs.

The trend changed last season with Blackman from Chelsea, and the lads from ManU and Liverpool seem like exceptional players who’ll also do well for us. Like others have said, I think our academy may be helping.

Conor Coady was excellent.

Sam Vokes was pretty good as well.

Coincidentally, Coady was on loan from Liverpool and Vokes is Welsh.

I’m often labelled a pessimist (however I see it as realism) but this seems an excellent signing.

As always, there’s a slight gamble in getting an unproven youngster in, but it’s a better calibre of youngster than we have had in the recent past. A nice signing but will be interesting to see how he’s used. He plays at 10 for Liverpool more than anywhere else, but I suspect we may use him up front. Should be an interesting one, this.
