Whilst i’m not disputing that let’s for instance say the table now is how it finishes at the end of the season. In reality who would he be better at ie who would he unseat as no way he’s sitting on a bench somewhere?

Liverpool - Allison
Leicester - Schmeichel
Man City - Ederson
Chelsea - Kepa
Manure - De Gea
Wolves - Rui Patricio
Spurs - Lloris/Gazzaniga
Blades - ???
Arsenal - Leno

The only ones I see him unseating there, and even that’s debatable, is possible the Wolves and Spurs keepers.

Obviously some of the keepers above could move on themselves but doesn’t look likely.

I suppose he could go abroad but again he doesn’t seem like the sort who would want to unless it was a big club and he was guaranteed a start.
The rumours ( usually started by the players agent ) were Bayern Munich were looking at him

Wouldn’t be too surprised to see a German team in for him, seems the fashion at the moment for youg english players to ply their trade there. mogdengladbach? dortmund? bayern?

Which is a bit ridiculous really given that the incumbent is Manuel Neuer who's even better protected there than De Gea is at Man U. Uli Höness (Bayern's CEO) recently threatened to withdraw all of Bayern's players from the German squad when it looked like Jogi Löw was going to replace Neuer with Marc-André ter Stegen despite that being a valid call - ter Stegen is a far better keeper these days.

We can't afford Henderson. Just enjoy him while it lasts. Maybe a third loan?

I don't really understand the concern regards age. 2 year contract for a very good goalie with a plan for 1 year as first choice and then a 2nd year battle with a really talented younger player.

Don't see a problem with us continuing to try and loan Hendo each season provided it continues to work for all parties and we aren't getting done over financially.

Even if we signed him permanently, if Man Utd or another real top top club came in for him and offered him real money then he's gunna leave SUFC at that point anyway so what's the difference if we try to loan him from season to season? The only real value I would see is that we would get the future transfer fee, but against that is the argument that if we tried to get him now it would cost us all or at least a very large chunk of our summer transfer budget.

As long as we have a decent lad in reserve, what's the issue in trying to keep loaning the lad? We get to play him whilst he's here and we get to use that money saved on his transfer fee, elsewhere on the team.

He's unavailable for 2 league matches for a start, my view is that it cost us 2 points having Moore in the net against Man U. We're also paying a loan fee and a percentage of his wages, with his value increasing match by match for the benefit of Man U.

It's a difficult situation because we obviously want to keep Hendo and if a loan is the only way to make that happen then we'll probably have to bite the bullet and go for the loan. But if we can get a keeper of similar quality on a permanent, then that has to be the preferred option over another loan. Personally, I'd be more than happy to see us break our transfer record again in order to sign him.

Rumour has it we're paying his full wages of £50k a week and the reason it took so long for him to be signed on loan this season was because Man U wanted a loan fee on top of that. If we've had to pay a loan fee as well then he's becoming a luxury we can't afford. Agree about Moore and the Man U match we need a permanent solution. The white boards at the Dubai meeting suggest we are looking for that.

Was superb today.

Clapped the Kop.

GET HIM IN
Yeah he was magnificent, that save from Fleck was unreal. If we don't get Deano then I'd have no qualms taking Foster instead.

Said it after the game at their place and again walking out of BDTBL, he is a great keeper and if anyone will keep them up, it's him. Fantastic again.

Wasn't it his big break out season on loan to Watford the last time we were in the premier league?

Apparently he doesn't do much, if any training on the pitch during the week, mainly all of his training is on the exercise bike. To still have the reactions etc and not train is brilliant and true testament to his ability and dedication to keep his body in top shape.

He’s 37 next year, we need to sort the goalkeeper position out. If we can’t get Henderson then we need to be looking for someone a lot younger than Foster and someone we will be looking at bringing in for the long term. Foster would just be a short term appointment and not getting around the problem we have had for the past 2/3 seasons.

Verrips?

Hendo is there for atleast another half season, let's see what develops....

Just thought it might be timely to bump this.

With DDG having a shocker once more, despite what OGS has said outwardly, it isn't going to decrease the clamour for Hendo to head back there and be given a chance.

With Watford's bizarre decision to jetison Nigel Pearson, and two difficult games coming up for which their GD could also take a hit, timely reminder that Foster is out of contract.

I'd take him. On a free he'd be an excellent signing.

Very good Keeper, I'd still prefer us to go abroad and sign a decent prospect in a league that's financially struggling more than the premier league.

How many time’s? On June 10th he signed a new 2 year deal

Would be good for us for a couple of years.

Age really is over played on these threads. Players generally get better with age and especially keepers

First time for me. I don't have time to read every thread. Whose to say he doesn't have a relegation release clause in his deal?

I think he'd come at a more reasonable price than some foreign guy who might take time to adjust. And cost about 18m.

Watford won't want to lose him even/especially if they go down. That means he'd cost a fee and Utd would have to offer him more and/or longer than his current 2 year deal. Really can't see it happening

Ramsdale is the man for me. The Cherries are definitely going down and he's the right age to be with us for many years. Had another very good game for Bournemouth yesterday

IMHO going from Henderson to Ramsdale is a huge downgrade and one that would end up costing the club a number of points next season.

I didn't see yesterday's game but whenever I have seen him this season he looks liable to concede, admittedly not helped by Bournemouth's very shaky defence im front of him. If, for whatever reason, Henderson isn't an option for next season, there are at least 10 other (realistic) GKs I'd prefer over Ramsdale. Out of them, I think Gunn would be my first choice - an utter knob but at least he'd be our knob.

Ramsdale hasn't been good at all for Bournemouth, no use watching his 1 good game every 5 for them and insisting we sign him. Blades are obsessed with former players.

Matter of interest why would Gunn be first choice. Few times iv seen him he's been average at best. Think last game he played was 9 0 v Leicester and not been since!
