imagine we’d seen Fulham come down and bring in Brewster, mcburnie, mcgoldrick and sharp with mousset and Burke as options also… you’d rightly think given their record(s) at this level that it’s a huge amount of firepower.

what we can’t do is completely neglect any form of creativity to provide for them. We need some attacking flair and creativity desperately!! We need someone to provide for the strikers…. We could have still been playing against Birmigham and not have scored despite all the possession.

I mean, I'm really not sure a season with us will have him in the running to displace Van Dijk.

Think is a clever gamble from them tbh. What’s he worth this summer 5-7 million? If he gets promoted with us they can add another 7-10 million onto his value next summer.

And we can refuse and look elsewhere.
While disappointing if he enjoys his time here then it plays to our advantage. Of course we have some uncertainty but if we don’t go up then do we want an expensive (wages) option when we have our kids? If we do, then we have more money and more options anyway.
There is also the spectre of JoC who needs time before we can reassess his level and future with us.

If Diallo wouldn’t come I’d ask for Shoretire and Mejbri instead. That would be a creative AM and wide forward sorted. Both have pace, beat people for fun and both know where the goal is. There’s some insane attacking talent in that Man Utd youth setup.

The difference is that’s two of starting eleven so improves the team rather than just improving the squad.
