I would like to know how many on hear will go into proper melt down if the pigs get promoted and will are still playing league one football next season. I suspect some couldn't give a shit but I also know many will be proper pissed off so which will you be? As trust me it could happen.

I'm not going to worry about something I can't do anything about - well, I might slag McCabe off more for his mismanagement.

Luckily the oinkers don't seem ready for promotion, with Gods help they never will, but stranger things have happened.

I for one would certainly be well pissed off. I watched the first half of their game against the scum and to be honest L**ds had the better chances but I can see it happening. The pigs look very strong just now if a bit suspect at the back they have a wealth of good keepers, a nasty streak in midfield along with bags of pace to support the goal threat up front add to that the luck that always seems to follow the bastards and it is virtually nailed on they will go up.

I genuinely couldn't care what they do. They thought they were Barcelona when they were finishing 18th or whatever it was in L1 a few seasons ago.

What I will say is that when we were last in same division, it made us much more focussed and competitive. That season in L1 us and them were probably as good as each other - only time I've known that in my time supporting SUFC. I don't think we would have got as many points if they had been in a different league. We need to work much harder on and off the pitch to ensure that we're not listening to more gloatibg for years to come.

In football terms, I'd be philosophical. These things run in cycles and I was fortunate enough to experience 12 years of unbroken dominance over them until recently. It'll happen again.

It's the Billy Big Bollocks posturing, mostly coming from cunts who havent seen the inside of the rustbucket in years that I'm bracing myself for. I despise most of their fans, they personify everything I hate about people in general to be honest.

My first and foremost concern is and will always be United however. I'm too immersed in Bladesdom to give a fuck about their fortunes.

No, I couldn't handle it. The dark side (the inlaws) would have total influence over my young son. They are becoming un fuckingbearable as it is for a bunch of ***** who suddenly remembered they had a football team after 15 years.

Pigs can't even say hello without turning it to football within 5 seconds. I wouldn't mind but they would probably be massive if half these ***** actually went to games

i work with a wednesday fan & in a way credit where credit due, they did their research on a unknown manager has been a big success & are appartantly playing some good football it would be pretty annoying, but hey nothing we can do

MELTDOWN for me!!!

I think a reason for a lot of the overreactions and abuse by fans this season on Twitter etc is due to that nagging subconscious fear in Blades' minds!

It's only a few years since it could easily have been us in the Prem and them in division 3 but obviously we fucked up and they stayed up. You just know it will happen for them though.

And yes Bladesmanluke, I'd think that as well!

They are obviously going to get there within the next few seasons so we just have to take the gloating on the chin. We had a good decade or so above them and now it's their turn. Sheffield football always goes in cycles mainly because both clubs constantly mess things up on a huge scale.

What sticks in the throat is how we have managed to get ourselves so far behind them. They are where we were just 6 seasons or so ago. They haven't done a Bournmouth and flew up the leagues. They arent throwing billions at it. They've just slowly got to where we were under Blackwell. They are where we would still be now if we hadn't continually sold our best players without replacing them. Our fans admit they are miles ahead of us but that's more to do with how badly run we have been then how well they have done . Thats what is annoying about them doing well. They show us just how much of a mess has been made at our club in such a short space of time

I can handle us not going up this season as i think we can (possibly maybe) build a strong base from here with youngsters, however I would be in proper Meltdown if the pigs went up. They're almost intolerable now and they've only just made it to the top 6!

If the pigs went up I would just look forward to their inevitable relegation the following season.

Im not particularly bothered either way, but you just know if they get in the play offs they'll spozz it at Wembley just to twist the knife a bit more on us and our consistent playoff failures...

I couldn't tell you who is in the Premiership this season. I could name at least ten of them but beyond that it would be a guess. I wouldn't recognise 80% of the next England squad. I pay zero attention to football outside our unfortunate situation, so I wouldn't even know if they had. Luckily I'm not in a position to have to listen to the snortings of the unclean.

Must disagree, Tyler. Next season, any team in the PL will see the TV money go stratospheric - possibly for the last time as Sky and BT Sport can't sustain what they currently pay (I think I read it's £9m per game). This will set up the pigs for many years and, I'm afraid it's looking increasingly likely that they'll get into the play-offs at least - possibly autos. Teams above them are imploding - Brighton, Derby etc. and the chasing pack will inevitably have to play each other.

The best option is failure to get promotion (although, if they get to the PO Final at Wembley, it will re-invigorate them for next season) and the fans may get fed up of paying extortionate prices. I don't know what they were charging v Leeds on Saturday, but less than 24k (with around 4k from Leeds) is fucking pathetic.

And 'not giving a fuck about their fortunes' is burying your head in the sand. If they are in the PL, they will capture an entire new generation of young fans, be rich enough to buy a 'promotion-ready' team if they only last a season and the already-biased local media coverage will see us relegated to the status of Barnsley/Chesterfield from which I simply cannot see us ever regaining parity.

The chickens are coming home to roost for McCabe, the Prince, this 'game-changing investment' and the utter insanity of selling our best players and replacing them with - well - Third Division players.

Not so. The game has changed. Watford, Bournemouth, Southampton, Stoke, West Brom etc. are replacing the 'established' PL teams such as Newcastle, Sunderland and Villa. The latter three teams have been mis-managed on an epic scale and I see no reason why Wendy couldn't 'do a Watford'. I'm afraid. :(

I'd like to say that it wouldn't bother me but I'd be lying. On the other hand, seeing them get spanked week in week out on MOTD would ease their gloating.

I'd be as pissed off as I was when they did us for promotion in this division. It wasn't just the fact that we were streets ahead and then not, it was the capitulation in the playoffs and subsequently in the playoffs as well, whilst they have stayed up there.

Believe me, if we stay in this division this s eason and the shit go up, serious questions need to be answered from the club

I don't understand people who say, "I couldn't give a fuck". I don't live in the city and haven't for 35 years, but I feel the humiliation. Fuck knows what it must be like journeying to work every day to be faced with excitable, upbeat little piggies clapping along to their success.

There was a time where it would have driven me to distraction. Being older and wiser I feel I have much bigger issues to worry about than some football team who I don't care about playing in a league again, that I don't care about.

As for the supporters, put together a sentence of more than four words, you'll find that their eyes glaze over and you can walk away while they stand there for 10 mins trying to process.

Or, seeing them make a run of it like Bournemouth?

Christ. I still remember the Chrissie Waddle days and the fat, pulsing hard on telly people used to get with 'Sheffield' (used perjoratively like they were the only club in the city.)

Things could be like that, once again. Their kop stuffed full of jumping blue and white and that fucking band.

It would just increase my anger towards United I think. I don't know much about Wednesday's finances, but their wage bill must be astronomical. Be interesting if they stay put a few seasons.

If the swine got promoted it would make the "hot seat" at Bramall lane much much hotter.

I couldn't handle it if they went up, just the unbareable media love in wou

Spot on in every way.

I couldn't bare that lot going up, what would make it worse is the subsequent media love spouting off all the myths surrounding that average club.

It's crazy how mccabe blew everything since 2007.

And even our very own 'takeover' resulted in us appointing a chairman from the states who in his own words knows nothing about football and does the role barely part time; another board member is a self confessed Turkish football hooligan and a 50% owner who lives in Saudi Arabia and has been to the lane about 3 times in 2 and a half years.

We have 4 senior board members, McCabe included, who are barely ever in the country!

Meanwhile, them lot go from strength to strength.

6th in the Championship and they never shut up about it.

I can only remember them being this annoying a few times before.

Rumbelows cup win.
Top of prem for 12 games.
93 semi.
League 1 promotion.

There genuinely are at least 1 maybe 2 generations of pigs that have never been near Wembley. Never seen a cup semi final and the best they have ever been in their scruffy little lives is 6th in the championship.

Yes we have nothing to show for anything in my lifetime but I've seen us play at Wembley 5 times, Millennium Stadium once + 2 league cup semi finals. They would never admit it but I'm sure some of the pigs are envious of our 'days in the sunshine'.

But yes, to answer the OP. I can't bear the thought of being 2 divisions apart.

Play off weekend could be interesting if we're both there

I live well away from Sheffield so wouldn't have to tolerate any gloating. I doubt I would care if I did live in Sheffield.

Their fortunes have no direct influence on our own currently so who cares.
