Baxter

For clarification has he been suspended or just fined/disciplined? One on the list of those on the list I wish to fuck off, but he's quite considerably down the list (Maybe on the De-Militarized Zone of my who to keep and who to fuck off list if we were to base the list on the geography of Cyprus).

So that's all the score against your old club equity down the shitter for the weekend.

On that note, are we letting Higdon play for them?

Loan players are not allowed to play against their parent clubs, rules were changed a couple of years back

Disciplined - they can deal with that behind closed doors.

But the fans have a right to know if he will be playing on Saturday or not...

Or the week after etc.

Just texted a friend whose son plays for Accrington Stanley. The players went over to Dublin after the 5-1 win at York but my friend doesnt know about anyone being glassed. My friend will try to find out. Hope it isnt serious
It wouldnt surprise me if Accrington Stanley told their players not to make comments

The problem with Baxter isn't that he's the best player in the squad, the problem with the squad is that Baxter is the best player.

Most on point thing i've read all season.

Do we?

Yes. He's a first-teamer who would only be omitted if injured or suspended. We would know under those circumstances, so, should he be missing for disciplinary reasons, we should also know.

We don't have a right to know though. But yeah, they're likely to, and should tell us.

Jose can do things that no one else in the team can do, but he also has terrible games where nothing comes off and he actually makes us worse.

He is not and never will be a midfielder in a four, he is a number 10, it is where he excelled for Oldham as part of a two man attack just off a target man and it is how he needs to be played to get the best out of him.

However, from his early Everton days there has been massive question marks about Baxter's commitment and 'off field activities'. This has been underlined in his time with us and he is simply not good enough or consistant enough to be worth all the fucking hassle that goes with him.

He's a 1 in 4 player in a shit third division team with a bad attitude and a back catalogue of off the field problems and, though this is a total guess, I would estimate he is one of the higher earners. He, like a few others, is part of the reason we are still stuck in this god forsaken division and personally I think we would be better off in the long run without his sort.

Mario Ballotelli of Division 3. Why always him?

Breaking News: Baxter in hot water

Sheffield United this evening announced that Jose Baxter has been “disciplined” following an “incident” over the weekend.

Baxter, who missed Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Barnsley, is understood to have met with Bramall Lane’s hierarchy earlier today although club officials refused to elaborate on either the reasons behind their actions or measures taken.

United insisted Baxter was absent from the squad which visited Oakwell due to injury. Manager Nigel Adkins is due to face the media at his weekly pre-match briefing tomorrow.

Anything to do with him being off his face in Dublin, a lot went over apparently I have a video of brayford dressed up and apparently Baxter volleyed a light toe and cut half his toe off.

Will upload video tomorrow

Yes Baxter was at Barnsley, the team apparently went to Ireland after for there Christmas do and it sounds like where this incident occurred
Went to Ireland for a Christmas do? I thought they had to be in on Sunday morning? Strange decision to have it there.

He's made to play just behind the strikers, 'in the hole', as they like to say. PLAY HIM THERE PLEASE.

He's one of our only natural finishers and would be a constant goal threat. As well as that, he'll be closer to the strikers so will be able to find the runs of Sharp and Done more easily.

He can't tackle AT ALL. Every time he lunges in (with 2 feet usually), I'm worried he'll see red.

This line up and try your best to find in the next couple of transfer windows, in order of importance:

1) Centre back
2) Central midfielder with more legs than Hammond but can do a similar role
3) Another centre back
4) A better goalkeeper
5) A big man who can actually cause problems with his size
6) A direct right winger with a bit of end product and goal threat

Good luck Adkins.

That centre mid looks mobile! ;)

Don't upload the video for Christ sake. I don't want the clubs name dragged through the mud again!

I'd disagree completely. He's the most spineless player we've got. Never takes responsibility and seems to blame everyone else.

He needs to man up and start taking things on the chin, hold his hands up and lead us.

Baxter is our best player at the moment. I would rather see Collins dropped than baxter

Given "Sheffield United will not comment further on this issue" I doubt it is just Baxter injuring himself.

That has a sub judice ring to it. And given his track record, is anyone surprised ?

I'm not necessarily disagreeing with all of what you said but if you say we'd be better of with the likes of Baxter not being here would you then agree that we need to get rid of nearly 30 players then as Baxter is clearly one of the best we currently have?

Forget about off field matters for a moment because our club as been tarnished enough already and lets concentrate on the footballing matters instead. I would argue that there are bigger criminals in our squad that have been stealing a wage for ages but they hardly ever get a mention, it's always Baxters fault we lost or drew.

Just a bit of passion from him it seems. He is back in the headlines. I think he will be leaving the club soon.

Couldn't disagree more. IF (a big IF) a player has done something to disrespect our club, and it is already knowledge within the club, AND it is caught on video, he is accountable to us (fuck what anything else thinks!)

I would agree that when I say the likes of Baxter I probably refer to 95 per cent of the squad. Honestly, at this moment in time I wouldn't be overly concerned if we got rid of any of them.

I also wouldn't be too dismissive of his off the field exploits either. It is blatently not a 'one off' and it is obvious to see there is a problem at the club at the moment of which disruptions like this are bound to be a contributing factor. I don't just blame Jose, I blame those who manage and control behaviours too but we want a succesful, winning culture at the club with everyone pulling in the same direction commited 100 per cent to the cause.

History and current events suggest you don't always get that with Jose.

How is the clubs name being dragged through the mud? He's a fucking idiot but at least he can play football unlike the rest of the clowns here. They're the ones dragging the clubs name through the mud. Not Baxter

Someone needs to tell the whole team how it is. If Jose Baxter was that person, fair play to him. It shows he's got the drive and passion to win, we're a 3rd division club sitting in 12th position.

If its true and Baxter has been disciplined for telling it how it is, then it shows everything that's wrong with the club at the moment. Time to put all the players on a pay as you win contract, make them earn their money.

Is this not the third player to be disciplined this season with a club/ Adkins statement?

- Che
- Baxter
- McNulty (or was there not a discipline issue this season?)

Adkins has also had to publicly state that Diego has to sort himself out

Last season
- McNulty (cheekbone, although not his fault)

It seems that we've got a bit of an issue with the whole team not knuckling down and doing their job but then with one or two of them being idiots.

Has the club and it's players learnt nothing from the Ched Evans case?

The message to all players has to be: Don't put yourselves in a situation which could put yourself or the club at risk.

Baxter of all people should know better. This is his third incident in a short career.

Sort it out blades!
