He should crack 400?
He's played 308 league games. So if we don't go up and he's ever present for 2 years, he'll hit 400 exactly.

Incidentally, the 2nd leg of the playoffs will be his 350th appearance overall.

Why should we?
No reason necessarily but it does mean we have to target fairly specialised players to do so - it's probably hamstrung us in terms of recruitment for a while and most definitely whilst Slav was here.

Plus, on a purely personal level, I'd prefer us to be able to switch to different formations during a game that would require us to play 4 at the back. We don't seem to have the persononnel able to do that with the current tactical outlook.

Does your view assume that CB's who play in a back 3 can't operate in a back 4? I'd argue that Egan has experience with Ireland and Davis has also played in a back 4 relatively recently, if we bring cover in for Egan then we have that adaptability imo

My view is that some of our centre halves do indeed struggle in a back 4, Bash especially. Ben Davis isn't ours and hasn't really impressed at all, either in a 3 or a 4 so he'll presumably be on his way at the end of the season. Robinson probably isn't big or strong enough to play as a regular CB in a back 4 either. Would argue that Egan is the only one currently comfortable doing so out of the current crop.

He Arrived a bit late in the office but scored a new contract...
Brilliant...well done Bash
absolute Legend

took some really unfair stick did monty

Frank Lampard saying monty was one of his most difficult opponents - hey what does Frank know .

I know who I would have in the trenches with me - Monty and Bash at a heartbeat

Well done Bash - gives everything abs more
Pinchy WHERE ART THOUGH PINCHY!!!

I think that issue was the reliance on our RCB/LCB bombing forward on the overlap, which they don't really need to do anymore.

Of Montgomery's 349 appearances he probably played in about half a dozen, the rest of them he ran round like a dizzy cunt looking fucking clueless.

controversial, but it's a bit of a gamble giving him a 2-year contract.

How is it a gamble exactly?

Paying high wages to someone who might not play? If we went up, is he really starting regularly? He's been noticeably a little less this season and started picking up niggly injuries. He'll be 35 at the start of the 23/24 season.

A year, yes, two is taking a gamble.
