I thought Baldock was shockingly bad last night, whether this is because he’s just starting to get back into the team in his preferred position or not I don’t know. The amount of times he refused to whip it in for McBurnie was ridiculous, and this is where I stick up for Mcburnie because Baldock just doesn’t play to his strengths. Early balls into the box for him to attack. We really missed Bogle and I didn’t think I’d be saying that at the beginning of the season.

Yup can see why Bogle when fit gets the shirt. Baldock would be ok as a full back who never crosses the half way line, a wing back he is not. Thought both wing backs were poor last night both refused to take on defenders or get in early crosses.

His end product will never improve.

I do feel sorry for both full backs yesterday though as they were the only outlets and therefore were getting 60 yard passes sent to them, had to control them and then by the time they have they were being pressed and had to go back or inside. The 60 yard balls are ok if they're running onto it, but not when it's just aimed at them. It slows play down a lot when it happens.

But yet 90% of our play goes down the sides …

That was Norwood who was full on back to Wilderball last night, pointless pings out to marked wing back who just recycle it to the back three.

When we played through the middle last night it seemed that more often than not it went to their player. MGW, Hourihane and then Norwood towards the end were all guilty of trying to force passes through the middle that just weren't on. The problem was that we were too slow down the wings as well.

Not just Norwood, the defenders were trying it as well. Bash did one early on that dropped over that annoying little prick at right back for them, but RND wasn't positive enough to take it on and get a cross in. After that it went back to Hollywood 60 yarders that got us nowhere like you say.

No he wasn’t

He had a period in the 2nd half where he had a headfart - he , as did CH , played some great through abs wide balls last night but hey let’s remember the shit

Agreed metal, historically hes looked good defending and been poor attacking.

Now even the defensive side of his game has fallen off, he was given the proper runaround by Lewis Potter last night, who incidentally would be on my.list of targets in the summer...assuming there is any money to spend of course !

Lewis Potter could be even better with a stronger side like us.

Good little player is Potter, will be way out of our price league when he is sold though.

Norwood was frustrating last night, one minute pinging balls out to the full backs (I think Baldock could have done more with them) the next minute passing it straight to Hull and then we’d win it back and he’d do it again!!! Also I thought RND had a decent game.

Back to Baldock though I had forgotten about the challenge which could easily have been a red ! I am not one of these that thinks he’s turned into a bad player he’s just got to be more positive and if McBurnie is playing get the cross in !!!

It was a deffo red, high above ankle and studs in.

Baldock hasn't progressed in any area since taking the shirt from Freeman.

He has been the one most guilty of delaying crossing, going backwards unnecessarily, slowing attacks by underhitting passes etc

He's also regularly involved in shit off the ball, frequently loses his temper and leaves a foot in - 100% red card challenge last night - and seems to get a free pass because his little legs make him look busy. Less Furious George, more Headless Chicken.

He reminds me of Kozluk, a great guy to have in the dressing room who would run through walls but an obviously limited footballer. The one difference is that Kozluk knew he was limited.

Definitely a weak link as a wing-back, he would be solid enough at full-back never crossing halfway.

in reality he's a very limited footballer with a huge workrate
Sums up most of our squad really and as we've seen it only gets you so far. Wilder signed a squad in his own image.

The crossing from everyone last night was poor, there were so many that were delivered at waist height after half a dozen passes to get into position to cross it to begin with.

McBurnie missed 3 or 4 good chances, Robinson put a free header wide, Ndiaye missed a one on one and there are probably other half chances.

We've picked up another point I suppose but Hull were a poor side who we should have punished.

There's a reason why teams allow him so much time and space on the ball, they know his end product is poor.

Baldock played better at LWB in the previous two games than he did last night in his natural position. His positioning was poor and lucky not to get sent off. But he played really well at LWB against West Brom last week. Bogle has to start at RWB.

I thought Furious was poor against Udders at left back.

True, but we created at least 5 decent chances that should have led to 2 or 3 goals.

Should've been sent off. Horrific tackle straight in front of us. Don't think the ref realised how high he was.
From where I was it looked a bad challenge but I think he was lucky to get away with it because play continued and the fouled player didn't make a meal of it (but might have done if play had stopped). I suppose the ref would have stopped play if he thought it was a sending off offence

Yeah i thought that at the time, if they hadn't maintained possession, could've been worse for him

I didn't think Baldock did much wrong last night... its pointless putting balls into the box for a bloke that stands rooted to the spot and then just shuffles off as soon as we've lost possession.

One thing that McBurnie needs to learn is that he needs to make runs into the box rather than just be in the box
