Baldock

The first game that Baldock played with CCV was Bolton. Both played fantastic. However it seems like Basham has a cracking understanding of who where when why from that right centre position.
I really miss his partnership with Freeman that brought so much success last season. There is a deceptive lazy look to Freemans attacking. Some suggest that Baldock is a better defender but the Basham/Freeman partnership was one of the best I've seen and because it is generally defensive that type of partnership gets over looked. CW/AK certainly have not and won't when it is available again.

I think Stearman May make an appearance.

Granted, CCV has been good generally, but he made some errors that were both uncharacteristic and costly against Fulham. He’s been away on international duty too, and may be in need of a few weeks off.
If Baldock is fit, it’s a no brainier. He’s been superb for me.

So, I would pick this team.

Blackman.
Stevens, JOC, Stearman, Bash, Baldock
Fleck, Lundstram, Duffy
Sharp, Clarke.

Lundstram keeps his place because we need some consistency due to Coutts abscence, until we can at least look at signing a replacement, and Caruthers is better from the bench IMO. Brooks still learning, and despite a drop in levels from Duffy he is too good to leave out after one less than great game.

But if Lundstram is still not getting on the ball and is still slow moving it on, he would be off.

.

Can’t see Wilder dropping CCV, it would give out a message to the players “if you make a bad mistake then you’re dropped’.

CCV has been pretty impressive so far. The best 3 seem to be

OConnell- CCV - Basham

It’s like telling Billy Sharp “if you miss 2 consecutive penalties then you’re dropped”.

It’s the performances over a spell of games that count, not a 1 off bad error in a game.

To be fair all the centre backs seem decent and I’m sure Wright or even Stearnan will do a good job.

Is that not Wilder's modus operandi though? Effectively, you're judged on your performances. If there's someone pushing to come in, then chances are that if you don't perform, then it's another player's turn. Simon Moore for instance, arguably made a mistake against Hull and as such Blackman came straight back in.

That said, in this case, I think CCV has enough money in the bank to avoid a trip to the bench.

I'd go with Bash in the Coutts position to be honest.

I asked you first,do you disagree with the must win/kiss goodbye/top 6

No. I don't agree with the statement by whoever posted it. (apart from yourself that is.)

So which is it, agree or self-righteous posturing?

Oh I absolutely totally agree, that should we not win on Saturday,we have blown our chance of finishing in the top 6,absolutely this is the case

I think you effectively answered your own question there. One bad performance won't make his decision, but two or three might. You have to show a bit of belief in them after a bad game in my opinion, especially an out of character one.

It was an interesting one with Blackman and Moore. Blackman was injured, so Moore had to do enough to replace him as #1 and I don't think he did that. And where do you draw the line in terms of a mistake? Does it only count as a mistake if it leads to a goal conceded? Moore's biggest mistake in the Hull game went unpunished.

That being the case, I'm calling muppet.
