Atkins or Cotterill

They have agreed a package with Bradford for Parkinson

Edit: Confirmed Parkinson

Solid choice in their circumstances, I'd have thought. Been a slow burner at Bradford though in rebuilding the club so can't really see any fireworks from them this season (& their early second-favourites tag seems just as unrealistic as our usual favourites one).

But they've dodged a couple of bullets in Madkins and the West Country lad, sadly.

Bradford will probably get either Adkins or Cotterill now! Personally, It'd be Cotterill all day long, if I was the Bradford chairman.

Wonder, with the change of ownership, if they're going to go down the foreign coach route? (Hope so!)

That must hurt if you're Adkins or Cotterill when you'd rather pay another club compo than employ them.

Bolton to me will have carried out due diligence and no doubt contacted Shefield United and Bristol City for a reference of some sort . Both Adkins and Cotterill seem to have a chink in there amour , and Parkinson was a better bet from building a team from scratch without spending a lot of dosh.

Don't know that much about Bolton , who will be there or there about , but not our major threat.

Blow for Adkins and Cotterill , who at the end of the day may now be a spent force , and find it difficult to get back in the game . At least Cotterill got BC promoted , but had the financial backing to succeed . He may get a second chance , but have my doubts about Adkins .

Would any of us employ him , if we owned a football club.

Rosler is favourite for the Bradford job, the new German owners will probably be the main reason for that. It wouldn't be a massively convincing appointment IMO, remember he did take a while to build that Brentford side and Bradford's current squad is very different to what he built there. They have a bit of a hoofball squad, his Brentford side were all about technical ability and pace.

Adkins and Cotterill in different ways may struggle to get back into the game .

Good question. Pre Sheffield United I might have, but now (as my Grandad used to say) I think he might have shit his pot full. Definately heading into busted flush territory.

I do sometimes talk to a Bolton fan when i'm over there, I get the distinct feeling that he's not altogether convinced the consortium concerned is going to be much better. They have players there on contracts that make Hammond's look like small change.

Could easily see him taking them backwards (after all the previous years of steady progress).

Bradford seem to me the epitome of the "more than the sum of the parts" side. Can't see pretty football as something that could just be tacked on to the existing unit. It'd need an overhaul, a disruptive one.

Ricky , think same as you . Remember the driving force at Brenford even when Rosler was manager was Warbouton now at Rangers .

Rosler like Adkins , but waffles in a different way . The continental equivalent to Adkins.

Gary Madine's meant to be on something between £8k and £11k a week! :D

Consortiums sometimes fail , as it can be made up of 2 penny millionaires acting the part.

The only bloke who seems to put a consortium together and make a decent profit is that Milan fella .

Bolton won't have a pot to piss in , and like us will be hit with a massive culture shock and be turned over both home and away by the so called smaller clubs . Will they learn from us - no chance . There board will think they will walk it .

Bolton - welcome to league 1 , the grave yard of the so called bigger clubs , who have fucked up budgets , board room , chairman , and players on big dosh .

Have pity for there fans , who like us , have had to live with a rough ride .

Is that Italian for "twat"?

Bit harsh I think. He wasn't great but I always thought he gave everything. Shit, rather than twat.

OK I give up - it's bad enough trying to read books that proof readers couldn't be arsed to check - am looking forward to seeing Dominica Culvert-Levin next season ;)

I've heard Calvert-Llewellyn far too often at games already.

Eccleshall (pronounced Eccleshawl) Road. I heard that on RS by the way.

There is an Eccleshall in Staffs, but I doubt many Sheffield people would have heard of it enough to get confused :-)

Just a point on Adkins for Bolton. Last week, the local paper did a simple online poll, Adkins yes or no and the result was almost exactly split 50/50. That's not a great starting position. Even when he was performing badly for us a few months ago, the straw poll on here was still 60/40 in Adkins' favour.

Cotterill did well at Bristol though, albeit he was sacked this season. Adkins record at Southampton and Scunthorpe should still guarantee him a job somewhere, but it might have to be a club like Rochdale etc.
