Watching Parkinsons hoof ball is bad on the neck. They are well organised, hard to break down but apart from the hoof over the top and the pace of their left winger they offered little. Don't agree 4-2 was an accurate reflection of the score line. 5-1 would have been more realistic. Second half we bossed them and would have put them to bed earlier if not for a number of last ditch tackles.

Seriki has pace in abundance and if he continues in the same vein he started the season after his injury he will challenge Gilchrist for the RB spot. Thats exactly what we need as a squad in all positions. Whilst Peck took the plaudits rightly so as mom Serikis brief cameo showed how he will be an asset in breaking down teams who sit deep. Gilchrist looked knackered towards the end and unfortunately we now have 2 who can play in his position out injured.

McClean and Fletcher are over the hill cloggers and CW was definitely directing his post match remarks at McClean when he was thankful an earlier assault on Seriki missed its target.

Parkinson showed his lack of class again post march whingeing about a block on their player for our first goal. He neglected to mention Souttar being pulled all over the place for their first and at every set piece thereafter. He really is a bad loser which makes the win all the more enjoyable.

We have some very promising young players coming through and the decision to bring Mick Collins into the first team set up from the u21's looks a clever move.

A win is a win but the manner in which we stood up to the rough house tactics of Hollywood FC was a pleasure to watch as mentioned by the manager. Early days but when our second string can play as a team its looks promising going forward.

Agreed with most of that , coulibaily wouldn't get near a game again for united if I was picking the team,if it was CW,s intention to put him in the shop window last night it didn't work !!
Couple of the young lads need league one loans , which I expect will be the case before the window closes
I'd like to see us bring in another CDM which should complete us (no doubt someone will do a list for each position )

Good call. I forgot him.

I'm still not certain on Martin Kuhl. Or if there are any others who have captained us on debut (had an inkling about Phil Thompson when Stan was here who seemed to be akways the captain at this time so if so makes my Kuhl one wrong too?!).

Silent Blade?
Yes, Kuhl was immediately made captain when he signed in 1987.

Kuhl was signed in March 1987 and played 41 times for us. These were all consecutive games: 38 in the league, 2 in the league cup, 1 in the Simod Cup. He was subbed in the 5-0 home drubbing v Oldham that proved to be McEwan’s last game - Wilder came on for him, funnily enough - and never played for us again. Begara and Bassett did not pick him and he went to Watford in exchange for Agana and Hetherston and 40 grand in February.

So there you go.
