When you come up against the weakest team in the land, rip their defence to shreds, score at least 4-5 goals in the process, humiliate them completely and then tell everyone willing to listen that you’re back on the top of your game.

Simplistic? Perhaps. But if Arsenal can actually score half-a-dozen goals against Sheffield United (and there are chances that they could), would anyone really speak up (apart from yours truly at Soccerlens) against the idea that Arsenal are hitting top gear?

How do you know? I've not heard he's injured or heard Warnock hinting he's ditching his Captain Fantastic... all I've heard is that he's gonna have a few tricks up his sleeve and that Davis is a definite starter.

Well pretty much. You say that being negative will backfire on us so the opposite of that is being positive, obv.

Warnock is at least being realistic.
I wouldn't want him sayin 'Oh we can win this easily' cos that'd be a lie.
It may not be the most positive thing to say and I know people will say oh he's given up on this one already, but if we do get something out of the game it will make it even better cos he (and most other people) expects nothing from it.
