I thought he was a class above everyone else on the pitch today when he came on. How he gets out of some tight spaces is incredible (unfortunately the referee twice decided to blow a free kick for us despite the fact he got free). He just sees the game so much earlier than everyone else.

Hope we get 20 more games out of him.

He will be starting on Sunday you'd imagine. I'd love to see Souza and Davies together but that's not going to happen yet.

I love that he holds onto the ball as long as possible in order to try to find a meaningful release instead of panicking and playing it safe "for possession." He has calmness about him. He reminds me of a young Gary Speed in that he always seems to have time and space.

Since easing his way into the starting 11, he’s been quietly running the midfield. Looks for the ball all the time, rarely wastes possession and is very good at closing opponents down and winning battles.

Clearly a very solid and dependable player for this level.

Maybe we don’t need a starting CM (though we’d still need a back up) as Souza with one of Peck and Davies is a very decent midfield 2.

I think this is it. The time was taken to properly deal with the injury this time and he, and us, are now reaping the benefits. PL quality player who badly needed a change of scenery after the car crash of the last several seasons at Everton. He has the potential to be really good for us for quite a few years.

When e signed him my first reaction was

Oh how wrong I was. Coming in a playing 90 mins virtually off the treatment table. What a feckin signing. He will be our captain if we hold on but I expect PL teams chasing him now we’ve done all the hard work getting him playing again.

Ironically, the red card hindered us. The game started getting bitty with 10-15 minutes of constant fouls and free-kicks. The penalty came out of nothing, and we were out of jail. Tom Davies is a big miss, he has been a revelation.
