Arise Tom Davies

He's shit.

He is shit, injury prone and on stupid wages I imagine and should not be with us in the Championship on those kind of wages. Especially when Brooks, Arblaster and Hamer will play ahead of him

Because he's shite

He’s really shit
There’s far too much love for Tom on here at the moment. We need to balance it up a bit with a few words of wisdom from some of our resident experts, because they all know what they’re talking about.

Best 36mins I've seen from a sub in a long long time.
I’d have worried about Souza coming off killing our shape if Davies hadn’t played a couple of cameos before tonight… but he just looked assured and brought a calmness. The professionalism we needed to close out a very tough game.

Im always hasten to use the phrase ‘best in the league’ I think every club loves to throw it around just because they watch their version every week.

However its certainly in the conversation.

No doubt Leeds fans will have an alternate view!

Yes hard to argue with them tbh with how well James and the 3m bargain of the season are playing.

Id give him a run at no10 if he isn't gonna play centre-mid instead of Ohare

He should be playing now he is fit Peck has been great but he isn't Davies

I stayed late in Oxford game to see him come on after horrible time for him . Absolutely made up he scored against Sunderland. When he cam on tonight his vision , touch and tenacity was like the good days at Everton . This bloke could make the difference this season . Confidence oozes out of him

His work rate is commendable. For a player who spent his entire career in the Premier League going down to the Championship probably wasn't easy to swallow. If he can rediscover the player he once was we're in for a ride.

There won't be many more combative midfield scraps this season, than what we saw tonight, and as others have said, he made it look so easy at times.

I can only imagine what he might do in a home game, against one of the poorer teams in the league? I think we could see him start him on Saturday, as both Souza and Peck could probably do with a rest.

What do we think about comparing Davies and Arblaster. Lot of calls on here that Arblaster is a future England international but then you look at a player like TD, who basically couldn’t get in a struggling Everton team and was miles away from being an international, put in a performance like yesterday and you realise how much Arblaster has to develop before he is ready for a top half premier league club.
Time and potential are on his side though.

Can only echo other comments really. A class performance that had it all really. Hope he can stay fit as you’d expect he’d only get better once he gets back into the swing of some proper match sharpness.

I think Wilder has done brilliantly with him. He's a class act and it's important to protect him so that he and we can see the best of him medium to longer term. 15 min cameo roles here and there will build up his strength and match fitness to (hopefully) a point when he can get back to something like his physical best.

As we have seen, he's got enough ability to still affect games in that short period of time. Keep building yourself up Tom and get stronger and stronger - you are a baller !

I am trying to work out whether he has reinvented himself as a different type of midfielder than what we saw at Everton, or whether the run in straight lines Everton way didn’t suit him.
