At least we're now managing to beat teams in our lower half of the Championship table.

When we manage to beat a team in the top half I'll think about relaxing over being in the relegation scrap.

Leicester are only not in the top half because we beat them yesterday. 8 points separate 3rd and 17th at the moment. In terms of quality I think Coventry apart there’s very little in it. Wins against teams higher up will start to come now we have got going.

We aren't out of relegation battle yet , had things gone against us on Saturday we could have been in bottom 3 again , , The next 2 games v Norwich & WBA could see us get between 0 and 6 points , 0 could see us back in trouble whereas 6 could see us within touching distance of 6th ,, things are certainly looking brighter but not out of the woods just yet ,,

Bookies clearly disagree 33/1 now for relegation, fill your boots if you still worried 😂.

Chris not helping with team selections hes putting out but christ this team is awful just fucking depresses you every time we play.

We are 4 above the drop zone so you obviously can’t say we are not at any risk. I still stand by saying we won’t got down though, all it really takes is 1 more decent run of form to pull clear and we have already proven we can do that over a decent 10-12 game spell.

The squad is very good in a very poor Championship but the present, and last, manager cannot get a tune out of them.
I don’t see a very good squad. For several years the quality of passing has been poor and even worse tonight.
Good players don’t give the ball away like many of this squad do.

What really annoys me is seeing a player make a mess of things and grin. And that was the case with a few of them this evening. But on the money they're on win, draw or lose ...... 🤷

The squad is dog shit and that’s our problem. Anything beyond our very best eleven and we’re an awful team.
It’s good when you compare it to most of the squads in this division, like I say, it’s a very poor division this season

I don't think we're interesting enough to be in a relegation battle. The last 10 games will be a bit like the Warnock season where Peschisolido and Lee Sandford would take turns in net at halftime and nobody could really be arsed.

Teams that get relegated make losing a habit. 15 losses so far we are fast approaching that point. Managers who sugar coat performances add to the problem. There was no evidence last night the players are fighting for their lives. Southampton hadnt won in 7 games. Teams beat them by pressing their suspect defence high. We had no press last night. Poor fitness levels are symptomatic of relegation threatened teams. Ours look to be one of the worst in the division. In summary we are now in that battle.

Strong chance this season we'll lose 20+ games and not get relegated. Quite insane really.

They haven't got a fight in them. Mentality issue last season, the PL final and this season.

Those 'proper Sheffield united performances' are few and far between now.

If we concede first, we lose. That doesnt happen with this regularity with even average squads.

I actually think we should class a 'proper Sheffield United performance' as totally cocking it up as that's far more the norm.

Purely thanks to how awful 3 or 4 other teams are in the league I can't really see us going down. However if Cooper, Bamford or O'Hare got injured we'd certainly make it a close run thing.

I remember a season where we said that. At HT in the final game we were safe.
We were relegated.
We lack on and off field effective leadership

Dangerous times ahead

93-94?
80-81?

We weren't safe at HT in 06-07 - and we haven`t come close to being safe in a relegation battle since then

The squad is NOT very good probably 14 decent players at this level
And not one of them good enough to take the step up! Fans harp on about next season regarding selling players, who the fcks going to buy any of these, no prem sides for sure.

Our last 3 relegation battles (2011, 2021 and 2024) were effectively all over long before the end of the season. I have to say I prefer that to the agonising against the odds last day relegation we suffered in 1981, 1994 and 2007.
