I was born in 1984, am I only allowed to like/comment/appreciate things that have occurred since then?!
TC is the most lauded player because everyone else has been a pale imitation from Sabella ,Brown to Baxter, its not that the support favors effort of style, its the simple fact that style is a rarity compared to effort.Tony Currie is the most lauded player amongst 60, 70 and 80 year olds
Anyone under 55 couldn't remember him

the ratio of flair, gifted players to grafters is about 10 to 1
Chelsea had Alan Hudson, they have Pulisic, Mount and Havertz now.And every other club has its legends from the 60's and 70's
The difference is they are a pale immitation of their modern legends
Osborne is a headless chicken that's allDisagree with Osborn, but fair comment.
Osborn was doing his job, he got crosses in, got tackles in, if a few others showed the same desire, we wouldn't be where we areOsborne is a headless chicken that's all
Not sure he was shoe horned in. Lunny’s decline had already set in and was rightly dropped for berge . Agree about his best position though and yesterday performance was direI said at the time of signing him, we didn’t need him we were playing well, when he arrived Wilder tried to shoe horn him in and it’s never worked since.
Does anyone actually know HIS preferred position?

You are right 100% correct, however football is also a physical game, a game that can turn or be affected by not just a goal but a tackle, WBA strolled through our midfield, there are 2 tackles that stick out last night, Freeman on his backside still managed in part with a bit of luck to beat 2 players, late on Norwood did a sliding tackle when he looked to leave a bit of follow through on their player
Football is about attitude, we don't have any leaders on the pitch, Freeman & Osborn have more will and fight than Berge does, Freeman & Osborn have the ability to drag Fleck and Norwood with them, with Berge everything is pedestrian
Yep. Every signing by every club apart from us is successful. Why can't we just get good players for our money.
Other teams, they seem to do this amazing thing where they spend their money and they get good players proportional to the value they've spent or in some cases, even more. But we spend our money and we get bad ones. What gives? What do you call this phenomenon? What is this strategy?
Th only players I saw that gave a fuck were Freeman, Basham and Norwood. Hard to judge Sharpy as he was given an impossible job of winning balls off giants heads. Sadly for Norwood he's done as he can't cover the ground anymore.
I question how Davies will be used, if he was identified as a JOC replacement by CW, surely its crossed someone's mind to revert to a system the players know, and adapt as the new faces are introducedI thought all the players looked as though they gave a fuck, except Fleck and Berge they didn't give a fuck. The rest looked distinctly average and worried by the strange tactics.
I'd say we would be better reverting to Wilderball until the players that can implement change are actually here.
But without doubt I'd give Jebbison and Brunt a start on Saturday regardless of tactics.
The point is surely Currie isn’t a poor imitation of our modern legends, he’s one of the best we’ve had.????????

I agree- right now we would have been better carrying on with PH- we would deffo have more points..I question how Davies will be used, if he was identified as a JOC replacement by CW, surely its crossed someone's mind to revert to a system the players know, and adapt as the new faces are introduced
Slav is on record of praising the back 3 and previous system, the next step is very tricky, he either sticks to, and imposes his style, or he reverts back, if it doesn't work he can then call them out, look we tried it your way, you screwed up, now it's my wayI agree- right now we would have been better carrying on with PH- we would deffo have more points..

Your assertion that it’s because the fans favour cloggers over style is clearly nonsense.
That’s the reason there’s a stand named after him, and a statue for Hagan. Fans could see and appreciate skill, and still can. We can also see where it’s non existent.
But the world over, fans will give more time to those who “put in a shift” than those who don’t.
Those who offer neither are rightly singled out.
Maybe- I saw it not good enough more than you describe- one things for certain for a big bloke Berge is distinctly powderpuff, regardless of technical gifts , he should grab games by scruff and be dominating challenges and he just hasn't got it- he's got the heart of a mouse, you see 10x his assertion and aggression in park football, only word for it is pathetic. All the daft prices bandied about - I just cannot see it at all- Arsenal will have done due dilligence- the answer is NO WAY.It's a hard one to judge as there's ways of hiding on a pitch that aren't always easy to spot. For me Berge, Osborn, Didzy, Fleck, Mcburnie etc never made a tackle and hid. Even Baldock in the second half. Some of them made a show of running around to make it look like they were competing, but they were hiding and all lost their individual battles.

Problem neither him or anyone else in the team, exploited those fouls in that game or last night, contrast with countless other examples, of players on the receiving end or their mates, would be screaming at the ref, or staying down and feigning injury while their mates had a go at the ref, we are lacking in the dark arts department at both ends of the spectrum from the nasty ball winner to the Bournemouth/Norwichesqe, chirping at the ref etcThe kid has unbelievable technical ability but doesn't want to win second balls. In the games we have managed to kick the ball on the floor to him with regularity he was mom (Brum, Donny) when we've hoofed the ball and he's had to earn the right to get on the ball he's been anonymous. A top player has both sides to the game: if he doesn't have it in his locker already in all honesty we're the best place for him as he'll need to develop it to reach the top of the game. There's a theory that he was trying to avoid injury as he wants out; that would explain things. He got a nice welcome to the Championship when Brum took it in turns to kick the shit out of him; he hasn't fancied it since.
Probably with the lass on top, so he doesn't have to do the running, can occasionally lose concentration, let someone else spend time on the ball, not even have to strain to get in the box and watch while they finishI said at the time of signing him, we didn’t need him we were playing well, when he arrived Wilder tried to shoe horn him in and it’s never worked since.

Well said mate. He showed some things others didn't. Work rate ,desire, commitment ,and pride. Rather see him in the side than our ROLLS ROYCE who i have to say has not shown me any reason why so many think he is special.Osborn was doing his job, he got crosses in, got tackles in, if a few others showed the same desire, we wouldn't be where we are
Looks like our Rolls Royce isn't at home in the Paris Dakar rally and everyone else has turned up with a Land Rover or Toyota HiluxWell said mate. He showed some things others didn't. Are you real ?Are you serious ? Did you ever see these guys play? Don't you think they would not improve this lot nowadays? Currie could split a defence in half with a forty yard pass right on the end of Woddies toe with out him changing step. He made defenders look stupid with a swerve of his hips while blowing kisses to the fans while going around the other four defenders leaving them for dead and you say he is not as good as this load of shite. Who exactly are our legends today then? And every other club has its legends from the 60's and 70's

TC, Worthington, Hudson, Bowler etc could walk into any top PL side, only difference between then and De Bruyne and today's current superstars, is TC and the gang weren't performing on a manicured desso pitch and weren't wearing custom hand made boots, made from computer 3d scans of their feet. Are you real ?Are you serious ?
