Indeed. Bizarre. Any insight anyone?Almost as though it’s not happening
The prince said just after the rumours surfaced that it was unlikely to happen , looks like he was rightIndeed. Bizarre. Any insight anyone?
The rumours shouldn't have got out, they haven't helped.
The Pinch (subscription service) have a fantastic article on Henry Mauriss which I highly recommend reading if you want more info on the potential takeover. I'm not involved with the Pinch but I thought this was very well written, proper journalism.

Can you appoint me as Director of Football? I've got a great Football Manager C.V.The bloke doesn't exist.
There is more chance of me taking over with the tenner I won on a scratch card.

Damn. I was on the point of making an offer until I read your second paragraph !!It looks like a Hashemi-style wheelbarrow full of bollocks to me.
If you want to bid for and buy out a football club which historically has had a legacy of failure, is in transition with regard its playing staff and owns a ground which a previous owner is spitefully checkmating any expansion plans then good luck to you. Especially if it seems you are made from fresh air and farts.
We are not being sold, HRH isn't cashing more money in, we will have to flog, buy and rebuild and Hecky is here to stay.
Get used to it.

Just like the vast majority of professional football clubs all over the world. There are only so many mega rich individuals with the interest and ego or the requirement to sportswash their reputation to do it. The rest of us muddle along and hope that success comes from astute recruitment & good coaching. We are not being sold, HRH isn't cashing more money in, we will have to flog, buy and rebuild and Hecky is here to stay.
Depressingly likely. It looks like a Hashemi-style wheelbarrow full of bollocks to me.

I'd say that's my take on it too.
There's something a bit Crab Industries about this Mauriss guy. Prince ain't perfect but maybe better the devil you know.
Could be worse, could be elephants in the car park and non existent sponsors.......
His business partner is Mike Blood, feckin name send shivers down the spine. The rumours shouldn't have got out, they haven't helped.

Traditional football managers in England have taken care of all of those things. However, over the years there have been more factors creep into the game, money for one but also a much more business like structure to the clubs. What exactly does a 'director of football' do?
To me, team selection, statement of requirement in recruitment, training, strategy (match-on-match and overall), matchday governance and responsibility of league position sits with the coaching staff, with the first team manager/coach being the buck-carrier.
Having someone sitting between the board and bench who trumps all of that (which was touted for Harry Bassett for us one day wasn't it?) is a recipe for disaster.
