It seems to me after watching hundreds of penalties over the years that if the keeper goes the right way, 50% chance of that, that unless it is in the corner he has a great chance of saving it. Whereas if the same penalty is lifted so it’s in the top third of the goal (aka Harry Kane) then the keepers chances are vastly reduced. And the chance of scoring is increased.

So why do players constantly go for the low corner shot, with the ultimate greater risk of failure? Answers on a postcard to ……..

It wouldn't have been so bad if Sydie had actually got it somewhere near the corner.
 
If someone scores 2 in a row without being convincing we should take that as a win and switch it around for the next one

As it is we just wait for the inevitable miss on the 3rd

Specialist pen taker, fine, keep them on them, if not, then mix it up

Both Peck's miss today and Burrows at Hull were very predictable

It's called fear. They are scared so they go placement over power
