Their owner also owns Midtjylland so they have a sister club in the Danish top flight which shares their analytics and scouting system so it makes sense that they would be well aware of the top Danish players. It’s an example of a multi club system working well.
It could work for UW also if prince had enough cash to spend. We know who are the best players in Belgian league to get but they cost money. Like Teuma to Reims for 8 mio, Noa Lang, 12 mio to PSV. Tresor of Genk, valued around 20 mio, in talks with Burnley. Those are players that are PL potential and with re-sale value. But without money the group system is pretty ridiculous.

I completely agree

Ronaldo Viera style conclusion of the medical report made of biscuits. Although someone said he’s been fit all season this year
I shuddered when I read that. Ronaldo Viera was the one I thought we really needed at the time. Had to walk all the way back to Italy on legs made of biscuits, the poor bugger.

Wikipedia has him already signed.

That's it then. Hurrah!

Anyone know anything about him? Is he even any good?

On a serious note, I have trust issues with YT compilations since I got myself all sticky-kegged over David Carney looking like a LWB version of Zidane for about 4minutes & 27 seconds.

BUT...

From what I can see on his videos, he seems to be pretty adept at feeding players who play off the defenders shoulder. That would've probably suited Sharp of 4 years ago or If I had more faith in Brewster coming good, I might allow myself to get excited about him finally coming good.

I'd guess his signing represents competition/replacement for Berge and puts paid to any chance or loaning McAtee again. I also doubt he'll start much in the first half of the season.

The system works if United are in the PL, Beerschot are in the Jupiler League and Chateauroux are in League Two, possibly even threatening Ligue Un. There does then seem at least a reasonable conduit between the clubs. But you need a bit more cash or smart management for that.

There would need to be a lot better player collaboration too. Not just saving money on Scouting or Kit Manufacturing. We don't seem to know what to do with UW on the playing side.

What also lets United down in this is that we are an English Northern City. Huge stereotyping incoming!

I'd well imagine that if offered an opportunity to head to Belgium or France, many will not fancy it.

For one man, an opportunity to learn another language and experience another culture is immensely enriching. For your average Sheffield lad who is leaving school early to focus on sports is it the same? Or is it going to another country, far away from family surrounded by strangers speaking a language you don't understand whilst living on your own?

Unfortunately there haven't exactly been many trailblazers who have lived the dream either. All three going to Beerschot failed to make an impression but also were not given much of a chance apart from Coulibaly. In addition nothing has come the other way either. Possibly two chances presented themselves. When I saw Sebaoui come on as sub in the top flight and score a penalty on one of his first appearances I thought "hello". He seemed an ideal future Ndiaye but he didn't kick on to the point he struggled to get in Beerschot's team. The other was the signing of Tarik Tissoudali, who would have probably been a decent addition in the 20/21 season.

The ironic thing is that at present we have an U23 team that wins the league each year but then has nowhere to go as the step up to the first team is too high, given we don't have Cat A status. They are desperate for men's football to bring them on. So we regularly have to place them outside of our control on loan in non league and lower league teams.

There is an obvious opportunity to exploit. But it seems they get sent to Beerschot as some sort of token gesture and nobody benefits. If the player is not ready then why send them? If the club has no intention to play them then why bother? Seriki the biggest victim of this, sent to do a role for which there were already two senior established players.

Even now, Chateauroux have survived by the skin of their teeth from being demoted through a combination of United World, Local Businesses and the Local Authorities coming together to help them pass the DNGC audit.

The have hardly any pros and you are allowed to loan up to 7 players. In a you scratch my back scenario, United would be packing up Gomis, Neal, Brooks, Peck, Marsh etc and getting them to play in a men's league, developing whilst helping out the group.

There just seems bo concept of this.

Sebaoui 😭😭 The one that got away.

I'm hoping we had a look at him at least.

Got a decent move to Feyenoord but see he's been loaned out immediately to Dutch 2nd division so maybe not as good as seemed at first glance.

Just adding max loans from Club A in England to Club B in France or Belgium would be 3, irrespective of the 7 total.

To be fair that wouldn't be a bad little batch to send 3 together. They could help each other settle.

I'm really not clear what Dewhurst, Amissah, Gomis, Freckleton, Boyes, Seriki, Sachdev, Buyabu, Neal, Peck, Maguire, Brooks, Marsh all get out of playing for the U21s again. They all need to get out and play men's football.

If you sent 3 to France and 3 to Belgium it would be better than going again for the U21s.

* Caveated by then either a. Not being tarnished from having been to Beerschot already b. Actual going there in a position needed by the receiving club and where they will get to play. Ironically there is currently a need for a right back at the moment but I'd imagine Seriki would run a million miles the other way.

It’s no coincidence that Søstrene Grene is opening a store in town and now we’re signing a Dane.

All good points Champers.
The players you mention are all ready for grown up football. But at what level? In an ideal world you’d hope that two or three of them could kick on and join the first team squad. If even one of them was ready it’d save us big bucks. The ones who have been out for a couple of seasons like Boyes and Neal might be the closest - but it’s a huuuuge step up - are they even ready for the Champ?

If they aren't quite there, then a stint in Belgium or France would sort out the wheat from the chaff.

If they couldn't go and excel in the Belgium second tier or at Chateauroux then they aren't going to hit the first team anytime soon.

And this is the most ridiculous misuse of UW. We'd rather send players to non-league or on-loan on a bench than to France or Belgium. What's the point of having these links if we don't use them properly. Broadbent and Seriki were properly shafted by sending them somewhere they'd never play. We should be looking to send 2-3 to each club given the situation. Even if it's for 6 months it's a very good way to learn.
