If Bettis has been in charge of the player sales this season then we owe him a pay rise.

Yep. Most have gone for profits. The Prince says 2 million profit for Trusty. A profit in Bogle/Lowe due to the size of the Bogle fee. Slimane now. The Osula and Jebbo fees look good at this point. Hamer and Souza have been really good.

Wait until Liverpool hand over the £40m for Brewster, we’ll be quids in!

Frees up the money for Morton or one of the other links, great move.

Also keeps up the lifelong tradition of players leaving within 12 months of me having their name on my shirt!

(I only got it printed because I was off to Tunisia during the AfCon and thought it'd be a conversation starter. It was. Haven't worn it since)
Did it at least start some conversations for you?

That will show up as a 600k profit in the books won't it? Not an accountant mind, but he had a 3 year contract so his book value would now only be 600k.
Assuming the reporting that we paid "under £1m" - probably around €1m - is accurate and that given that Slimane played 545 minutes for us (4 starts, 15 sub apps) he is unlikely to have triggered many, if any of the add ons it's a fair assumption that we paid £1m for him.

We're halfway through his contract so he'll have a book value of £500k. If Norwich are paying £1.2m to make the move permanent then it's also a fair assumption that they've paid a loan fee - probably between £300k and £500k as that's his annual amortisation. The total value of the deal taking him to Norwich permanently will be between £1.5m and £1.75m leaving us with a book profit of £1m to £1.25m.

Cashflow will be totally different but if we triggered a release clause in his Brøndby deal it's likely we'll have paid most of the initial fee up front.

I knew you'd be along shortly to clarify things :)

Good business getting some of these off the books.

I think Osula could have done a job for us this year but swapping Jebbo for Moore, despite Moore being a bit hot and cold was a good deal, especially considering what the Watford fans think of Jebbo - seems to be having a sulk again.

Getting shut of almost all of last years dross for a profit has been a masterstroke.

Yes we have done well getting rid of all that crap we brought in during that terrible window . It was obvious he had shot his lot at the Lane when he started upsetting the gaffer with his antics .Wilder is not a lover of player power .
