Anels red

Anel was simply sent off for pushing him. Bassette pushed him also in the first place. Either both should've been sent off or neither of them.

From what I could see on the replay the ref saw it all as well.
Oh come on,Anel shoved him by the throat 100% red card. There lad was just shithousing and nothing more, sadly Anel reacted like a muppet.

Would like to know anyone who eventually wouldn’t have snapped against a little shit like that. He’d been shithousing, cheating from minute 1. Diving, deliberately leading with an elbow into Anels face when on the ground, yelling at him n grabbing the back of his neck. Who knows what else was going on off camera. You can say naive, unprofessional, should’ve known better, should use experience to not react but, at the end of the day he’s a human being and all human beings have a snapping point. Mark my words that Bassette will not last the season. All clubs/players will now be aware of him and someone will crock him. He is a marked man.
I'd be very interested to know if you'd have the same opinion if it was say, a police officer that had been goaded by a little shithouse and they ultimately lost it?

This happens in football all the time. Bassette was very obvious about it, but he's hardly an outlier. If you're going to snap like that every time a little shit is being a little shit then you can't be a professional footballer. Furious, RIP, used to wind other players up regularly. I remember him getting one to snap and got sent off and we celebrated it. Most players will get their own back in a more covert way.

Anel needs to stop being so obvious. He could have easily been punished for trying to extract Smith's shirt from him in the penalty area last game. He's seems incredibly unbright when it comes to this aspect of the game. Pulling shirts obviously and frequently. Reacting to a bit of aggro.

pushing someone is not a red card offence.

Retaliating by pushing someone by the throat clearly is.

Retaliation has always been a red card. He may have gotten away with a yellow card for a push in the stomach.

Law now states:

"In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."
That sounds like an elbow drop to the back of the head is a straight red

Blinkered Blades at it again a red all day totally stupid and unprofessional he knows he deserves the shit coming his way from supporters he let his team mates down and us sure he will take it like a man -

I would imagine Bosnian hit men are fairly cheap in Belgium. Would not want anybody to sleep uncomfortably knowing that though.

He really is a nasty piece of work, don't normally like the "I hope someone snaps a players leg" stuff but he's really getting to the fuck it he deserves it. Presume this was against Sunderland.

Campbell went over to Bassett after
Ref had no choice. Bassett achieved exactly what he was aiming for.

I think he's an embarrassment to football to resort to that however he will have known Anel has a short fuse and was looking for it. He's been a pro in the English leagues for long enough now to know how his actions are met (since he's regularly carded, sent off or banned) he deserves his red.

I'd be getting pissed off as well but there's a chance he just cost us 2 points. I like Anel but he has to get control of his emotions. However I would be interested to know what was said.
After the incident Campbell went over and gave Bassett a load of verbals, Bassett winked at him and blew him a kiss.
If Anel had done the same, we would’ve got the three points, only himself to blame.

So his hands on the back of Anels neck is irrelevant ?
No. It wasn’t irrelevant, but, in my view, it did not meet the threshold for a sending off so that’s why he was only booked. However, Anel jumping up from the floor, running over to Bassette and pushing him by the throat DID meet the threshold and that’s why he was sent off. He should know by now, NOT to be goaded into this type of retaliation. Stupid, and potentially costly, sending off for us.

It wasn't against Sunderland it was today in the same game. He left an elbow on Anel and there is Burrows wondering over after it both in blades kits.
It's hard to know if it was deliberate, but it's naughty and the lino didn't do anything. It adds fuel to the fire as to why Anel eventually snapped, but he is experienced enough to know better as Wilder said.

Bassettes a shit house but Anel’s gotta be more professional.. it’s not only potentially cost us 2 points but a 3 game ban .. fkg stupid 😡.. if he’s cuter would have had plenty of other opportunities in game to pass on his regards

Yeah realised later, too late to ammend.
Steve Ogrizovic on the Coventry commentary highlighted all the incidents he'd done in the game up to the red card, with his dives and buying the red card.

I'm very biased normally but even I can't defend him today
Neither can I, but they were both at it. He should have gone, but he was grabbed by the neck immediately prior. Anel deffo red, and the Belgian turd a red too for grabbing anel by the neck too.

This was today, not against Sunderland.

Red card all day long. Lost his head. The horrible prick wound him up and got exactly what he wanted.
If Anel had pushed his chest, it's only a yellow. Neck upwards and it's an instant red.

I thought a number of Coventry players were dirty twats today leaving their foot in. Could've easily had 3 or 4 more yellows. The commentators kept referencing that "dark arts" were on show. I call it cheating.

For some reason we love this sport, even though some of the rules are Stuuuuupid.
Why would they not get the same colour card each?

Why does the reaction get more punished than the initial challenge? Barmy.

Bassett was just as unsporting as Anel. Especially after he got up and started winking. Can't this be looked at retrospectively, it's all very clear on video...

Should have been booked for that, should have been booked for diving.

But it’s ok. He’s got a reputation now. He’ll be a marked man.

Nasty indeed. Wot a c*nt.

Yes, definitely today...here's another perspective on it. Based on the shit he's been up to I highly doubt it's accidental. Doesn't even check to see how Anel is. Cunt of the highest order.

Anel retaliated and you can’t do that. Red card all day. Some thought he was smart when he threw the wed player Smith in the net in the Derby game the other week. I thought he was daft.
