if I had been shouted obscenities at while having an opponents hands on the back of my neck after being deliberately elbowed earlier I would have done the same

So that’s fair ?
Fuck fair it was totally and utterly brain dead- Anel wasn't having the best of games - yes the kid wound him up but FFS he's got to be more professional than that, he plain and simple snapped. He cost us 2 points, he's out for 3 matches, he put the fans through a 45 mins of excruciating watch, all for what? To slightly scratch the opponents neck. It was so dumb it was unbelievable. So that’s fair ?
He was having a really poor game before his brain fartRef had no choice. Bassett achieved exactly what he was aiming for.
I think he's an embarrassment to football to resort to that however he will have known Anel has a short fuse and was looking for it. He's been a pro in the English leagues for long enough now to know how his actions are met (since he's regularly carded, sent off or banned) he deserves his red.
I'd be getting pissed off as well but there's a chance he just cost us 2 points. I like Anel but he has to get control of his emotions. However I would be interested to know what was said.
At which point, I would point you towards the size of your pay packet, your responsibilities as a professional footballer to your teammates and your fans and remind you that as an elite athlete with international level experience you can’t react like you’re playing in a Sunday League pub teamif I had been shouted obscenities at while having an opponents hands on the back of my neck after being deliberately elbowed earlier I would have done the same
pushing someone is not a red card offence.Anel was simply sent off for pushing him. Bassette pushed him also in the first place. Either both should've been sent off or neither of them.
From what I could see on the replay the ref saw it all as well.
We should be ok without him for the Oxford game, we’ll miss him against Sunderland and West Brom though. Now he’s gonna be missing for Oxford, Sunderland and West Brom. That’s the biggest worry.
Depending how the others are doing. Few seemingly picking up some injuries, albeit small ones. If they recover in time we should manageWe should be ok without him for the Oxford game, we’ll miss him against Sunderland and West Brom though.
A silly red card, hope it only costs us the 2 points dropped today.
YepSo his hands on the back of Anels neck is irrelevant ?
The wink says it all ...
He got a yellow for it. Anel needs to look at himself. Fucking stupid. So his hands on the back of Anels neck is irrelevant ?

To get a point after that was pretty heroic. Well done the team for helping him out, but he needs to be shown the video again and told 'never ever ever - do you do that again.
