Outgoing? Anel

Spurs at home when he scored being one off the top of my head. Agree that games in the prem for us were few and far between though due to injury, but looked every bit a premier league player from as soon as he signed imo.

Never understood the flack he got. He didn’t set his transfer fee. Sadly though, some of our fans just don’t recognise quality when they see it. They’re stuck in the past where running round aimlessly takes precedence over things like, you know, being able to pass to your teammates 😂. Cant help but think if he was an academy lad they would be swimming in their own jizz over him.
Unfortunately for the unlucky sods who witnessed that shite in the flesh last season have a different opinion to you and others.

They were all shit in performance wise (as can be seen on TV aswell) but his attitude and body language on the pitch was pathetic to be seen in person.

Hope he's gone and we enjoy the 15m.

I believe Lucky1979 was referring to Berge in his post

If It was upto some of our fans we would be full of cart horses.

I reckon Souttar and Robinson could be okay together, though of the two I don’t think I’d agree with Wilder’s choice of ‘captain material’.
We won't be able to compress the play and play high up the pitch with that centre back pairing . Milk turns quicker than those two.

I am so glad some of our so called supporters are not in charge in charge of recruitment/sales.

Some of you clearly know absolutely nothing about football, do you really think a Premier league team would come in and pay a premium if he was sh*te.

One bad season does not define him as a player.
Anel and Berge are God's to the Football Manager and FIFA crowd. In reality, they are both bang average.

That’s a given with Souttar being 9’7” and all, but Robinson is one of the more mobile centre halves I’ve seen for us, in general he’s far too rash and ill-disciplined but I reckon they would compliment each other better than anything we have. Anel was never comfortable 1 on 1 in the championship let alone the record breaking defence last season, and also incredibly ill-disciplined. Anel’s qualities going forward in that 22/23 team were his strong points in my opinion.

Great business for who? certainly isn't for us the fans how did the sales of Ndiaye and Berge help exactly?

Oh yeah they didn't the only person these sales benefit is the owner.
Both were in the last year of their contract, both refused to sign a new one, both would have therefore left for nothing, and we would have got relegated with them anyway.

You shouldn't need them to play that high up the pitch in a 4-2-3-1, that's literally the whole point of having the 2 deep midfielders.

Robinson is not ok in a back four…imho
I agree, and for that matter neither is Anel. For a team that conceded a record amount of goals last season we still have too many getting off lightly.
It also really intrigues me what Wilder sees in Robinson as the lad only ever looked relatively comfortable and error-free under Hecky. He’s always looked so uneasy under Wilder and was an absolute bomb scare under Slav. Unfortunately I think he’s our second best option right now.

spot on there playing a back 4 with 2 midfield protectors can work easily just dont think robinson looks comfortable for me he only plays if we revert to a back 3 and until rnd is fully fit i would give trusty a chance alongside souttar

I dread to think what would happen if /when they played against, skilful, mobile strikers, especially those that drop and/or teams that play balls into the channels or over the top. Watching those two trying to turn will be reminiscent a day out watching the megaships try to manoeuvre in Rotterdam port.

you could be right but thats where gilchrist might come in his natural position is centre back

All our defenders are decent for this level .
I hear all this about playing in a 3 or a 2 , left/ right , strengths, weaknesses .
All defenders apart from the elite have strengths and weaknesses, ours do and whoever we change them for will too.
They'll make mistakes and cost goals , that's football .
Whilst I agree there needs to be a balance of presence , pace , awareness etc I think that's what we have , its not perfect but it never will be .
Whoever goes / stays or arrives we'll never have it perfect .

Agree AB - he could be a good match with either but it reinforces the point that Souttar and Robinson would be a car crash as a pairing.
In a strange sort of way there is a logic that Souttar and Norrington-Davies could make a compelling pair.

Souttar is literally going to win everything in the air.

Rhys isn’t slow. He can’t be due to the amount of bombing up and down he had to do as a wingback.

Depending on who the rest of the squad is, if Gilchrist is around, it’s relatively easy to become a back three if so desired too, with all three comfortable in that role.

Watched Souttar in a game and a bit for us and haven't seen him outpaced by anyone. Those long legs can keep him up with most at this level.

No guarantee we would have got relegated anyway and we would certainly have enjoyed going to the Lane far, far more - which is ultimately the point.

If Ipswich want a defender of ours for £15m+ that was part of the worst defence in premier league history good luck to them.
Not just a part, but a vital part of the worst defence.

If we manage to get £15m for Anel it is an incredible piece of business. Aside from a 6-8 game purple patch when he first joined he has been nothing short of a disaster for us - with a shocking attitude to boot.

He is nowhere near Premier League standard. He's not even that good in the Championship.

I'm not that fussed about losing Anel but disaster? Really?

The S24SU members do not agree with you.

Ahmedhodzic was POY in the promotion season, with an average rating of 7,16.

makes sense - he is vastly overrated by most on here because of that little purple patch.

After he returned from injury in the promotion season he was not the same player. He stopped going forward, he stopped scoring, and he stopped being able to defend.

I remember one of his first games back against Norwich. He made one or two bad mistakes and Pukki had a field day. That set the standard for the rest of the season.

Last season, let's not even talk about it. He maybe had one good performance all season and kept throwing his toys out of the pram every week. Gave up. Tried to get himself sent off. Good riddance!
