The club wanted Berge out. Berge was as good as gold. The narrative totally flipped after promotion when the club decided it wanted to retain him. A well known country walker fostered a lot of anti Berge sentiment on his youtube channel. The gullible swallowed it whole.

i think there both off if we get mepham that still gives us 5 centre backs gilchrist souttar mepham robinson and rnd thats enough and think if gilchrist has to go to centre back seriki will be good enough for right back

Ironically he's the least bothered about being here too.
We need to forget what he WAS worth, it's gone. We need to ignore how good he WAS in the Championship in the past too, he won't do it again.
It might only be for the shop window but at least Souza is showing a fight and a passion. Anel is easier to replace, take the hit, anything close to £13m (has to be up front) will get us a replacement and Cannon.
 
Always thought he'd go with Souttar coming as there's no way we'd bring in Souttar to sit on the bench. Hopefully if he does go we spend some money on a striker.

I prefer Souttar to Anel myself but good luck to Anel if he goes.
 

Mepham, Souttar and Gilchrist as a back 3. Burrows and Brooks as wing backs. I know Wilder likes a left footer on the left but that's a hell of a 3.

I’m a big fan of Ahmedhodzic, but I’m getting to the point where it wouldn’t bother me if we sold him just to put an end to these anal “jokes”.
 
The cut off point for messing around with “interest” should be made clear to all the players. No realistic bids by Wednesday night at the latest you’re staying.

Unfortunately you’re not bigger than the club we can’t replace you so you can either sit in the reserves or play because the team that is interested doesn’t align with our interests, also take a step back and think about this, if you were ever their No.1 target you’d already be their player.

Given Anel amd Souza have been for sale for 4 months I'm thinking neither are leaving in the last 36 hours.

I wouldn't be too surprised if we are done for the window....cue loads of departures and incomings!

Sorry but that looks horrific.

Mepham has played about 60 times in the last 5 seasons and is right footed and realistically no better than Robinson there who’s naturally left footed.

Brooks is an attacking midfielder or recently a winger to play him as left footed right wing back would be suicide.

We’ve committed to a 4231 because most top teams use some sort of variation of this formation. It really punishes a 3 at the back formation with wingbacks as the 2 wide players can press the wingbacks out and stifle the midfield. We saw it last season. Our wingbacks couldn’t get out, the midfield then had very few passing options and got consistently overrun.

A new system takes time to bed in, I don’t get the instant clamour to rush back to a 3 at the back set up when it seems to have run its course for us and taken us as far as we can. The 9th in the premier league was amazing but by the end of that season teams had started to work us out and stifled us with true width and stopped the unique overlap and overload from the centre halves

That's not where Brooks plays. Brooks plays wide and in space for the under 21s, that's why he's hit the ground running this season there.
He's also strong and good enough at tracking back to make it as a wing back, especially if the back 3 are big shithouse stoppers (Gilchrist is mobile enough to cover him too).
We don't need to have the Right and left CB's overlap anymore if the wing backs are as good as these two could be.

By far Brooks best attribute is his dribbling. Sticking him at right wing back stifles his best attribute. He’s been one of our brightest sparks this season so far. Why look to stifle his main strength.

I don’t think 3 at the back is the answer anymore. We just need to be patient and bed in a new system which will be better long term.

Mepham would be underwhelming too, especially played on the wrong side. If he comes in as cover for Souttar then fine. Not as main starter at left sided CB

It didn't exactly stifle Bogle and his bombing forward.
I dont believe in left footers on the left and right on the right, in a 3 anyway.

Annoying when clubs with less fans are far better placed, especially when they are teams we finished above when we were 9th.

They have lost one centre back and could lose Guehi so this could be legit interest.

A few are queuing up now so must be an increased chance he goes.
 

If this bloke is here after the weekend it’s a concern.
Means nobody is interested in the Sulky twat, and we are stuck with his half arsed, lazy and uncommitted performances and his value falling fast.

I’d happily take loan to buy at this point and hope he ups his game elsewhere.
