Outgoing? Anel

As much as I don’t like him as a person, he’s a sulker and his dad is a twat, he was really good in the promotion season. Despite a poor season last year, he was and is premier league quality.

This Blades team is less top heavy than teams of old, in my opinion. In our promotion season, we had Ndiaye, Berge, Ahmedhodzic, Egan and arguably McAtee and Doyle that were ready for the Premier league come the seasons end. The rest simply weren’t. When three of those players left, including our two best, we were bound to struggle. For this reason, and I may look stupid, I think we’d be a lot better in the Premier league with this current squad compared to our squad last season.
Not a chance on today's performance. We still look really vulnerable when teams drive on at us. Prem teams would crucify this weakness.

I see your point but I think this seasons squad is made for the Championship and potentially promotion so players bought or brought in for a different reason I can’t see this ream being much more successful in the PL than our last one we need a hell of a lot more quality as the gap is massive.

Seems a bit rattled in that interview.
Wonder if the ownership speculation is getting to him a bit as well?
100% Wilder will know that he has to get us up in at least the play offs by Xmas or he’ll be under real pressure if new owners come in. Likelihood is that they will want to push in for promotion this season & will want to invest in January. So question will be if they trust Wilder with any cash?

Needs to accept help this time around though

I reckon Anel's pulled a sicky and Wilder is fucked off because he knows its because he's being tapped up by PL trams and he's unofficially refusing to play.
Anel 100% refused to travel yesterday. You can tell he has an extremely poor attitude & high opinion of himself.

We had an issue with Berge wanting to leave a couple of years ago, but at least he always turned up (physically)

Beattie flu.

We all knew Anel was the type to sulk and spit the dummy.
The writing is seemingly on the wall now, so we need to move quickly to line up replacements based on best / worst case scenarios on the fee we get.

I don't think keeping someone with his attitude is a sensible option, nor dragging this to the end of the window.

He's also not that good.
Souttar looked far more assured yesterday.

Sell Anel, reinvest. Don't lose any other first teamers, and we might be alright.

Let's insist on 17m, sell him for 12m on deadline day, and leave no time to replace him

Sick of him now tbh.

When he first signed I was really excited as I thought we’d got a top class bash replacement for marauding RCB. Maybe even an upgrade.

His performances dropped off a cliff, he’s had a face like a slapped arse for a year now and his dads a bell

The shirt is Souttars now

I hope he goes tbh, if we can get something like this £17m figure that’s been. Shown hide personality over the last year, or so and he was very weak and poor against better sides in the PL.

That a fact or just an educated guess?

Wouldn't surprise me if it was true re Anel, but the club did make the point of sating it was genuine illness. But then again, this is the club (different owner granted) who told us Harry Maguire has sun stoke prior to his move to Hull City re reason for absence, and James Beattie had flu (whilst he was having hid medical with Stoke City).

I’m basing it on the reports of him being unsettled. You’re right though I should drop my certainty to 99% as it’s not a fact 😂

Surely this squad is the first step in being promoted in 2025/26, by which time we should be better prepared to survive in the PL

The TEAM looks strong the squad looks thin also even though the team looks better than it did it is no where strong enough for the prem. The gap between the Championship and the quality of the prem is enormous . Unlike us other teams have spent a fortune when getting promoted only to come back down again . Forest brought in 20 new players and only survived by the skin of their teeth granted they had some points taken away from them but allowing for that they still struggled . Ipswitch have splashed the cash it will be interesting how they fair this year .

I think the lesson from last season is you can’t build a PL team in the championship and/or have a PL ready manager in the championship.

You have to build a short term team to get you up, replace the manager with proven experience and splash on PL players.

We get sentimental, “give him a chance he’s earned it”. Nah get shut at put top manager or young manager proved elsewhere in.

He's putting 2 + 2 together and getting 67890766788621 some how.

I do not agree a manager who works his butt off to get a team to the prem deserves to keep his job . After all even with very little cash (compared to prem standards ) he got us to 9th in the prem . I dread to think of the flack he will get when we lose one . Football supporters are so fickle . The man has worked wonders to rebuild the team with no cash to call owt. Surely he should have our support without us discussing if he should be sacked .

This is good news, another loss to Burnley is a benefit to us.
Think Burnley played a blinder. Take this one for £15 mil Ipswich. Save yourself £2 mill on the Anel bloke says Burnley. We can then reinvest and that leaves them Blades with a mardy want away. Result for them.
