He'll be 30 at the start of next season, surely there are better option to consider before we look at signing Williams? Also wouldn't say he is the type of player that a team hoping to be promoted should be signing.

I've rated him for a long time, since his Hereford days, as a good all round striker but I don't think he's quite as good as he was, and he's pushing 30 now. We should've signed him from Yeovil about 3 years ago.

I wouldn't be against signing him now though because he's a good strike partner for most strikers because he has a bit of everything. Quite tall, mobile, decent technically, works hard and can score. If we had him up front with Sharp all season we'd be much better off than we are.

If we're going to play 4-4-2 next season we need 4 good strikers, so it's a 100% yes from me. I suggested him on another thread the other day.

Sharp, Williams/Madden, Novak, Adams is a promotion winning quartet. Think Novak's Birmingham contract is up in the summer, he's done really well at Chezzy this season in a bad side.

I wouldn't want to spend any more than £250k on him, mainly because of his age as you've already pointed out. But considering we spent £500k on a 29 year old Billy who's since bagged 15 goals, age shouldn't always be the be all and end all as long as the fee and the contract length is right for the club.

If Donny go down, would he be worth a bid?

Had a fantastic season with Swindon and has been pretty decent for Doncaster most of this season. Clough had all but finalised a deal for him before he got the chop, so he's seen the stadium and training facilities etc and obviously liked what he saw.

I reckon he'd be just the type of player we all wanted Sammon & Higdon to be for us. Even if they dont get relegated we should still make a move. Surely we're a bigger attraction to him than them??

Andy Williams - will be going for a song .
