Tend to agree the sentiment of the OP.
The expectation that the score will be added to, which is still an important requirement over a two legged affair, is a crucial one and one that disappears when we make these changes. They may become something good or even great but for now they fulfill the role of game triers to Harry the opposition, not really a goal threat.
I'd also tend to agree that with so few options, bringing on Hourihane or Osborn if he is out of the team is the option and having Berge and Gibbs-White lead the line. Berge played as a forward in his youth.
Otherwise you have to be more inventive and bring Uremovic or Davies on and shove Egan up top but that sort of move will be if you are chasing, not making a regulation change for N'Diaye' cramp.
