You really think that was the motivation for the song and not the high Pakistani contingent in Bradford?
Out if curiosity, if the word 'ISIS' was changed to 'terrorists' in the song would this be classed as racist ?

In addition isn't you assuming only the Pakistani community in Bradford was targeted by the song a racist comment as white British Muslims In Bradford are also known to support ISIS.

"

"You're cathedral's fucking shit." That'll tell 'em.
Careful. This would probably be seen as racist by some on here as it would offend a section of the community.

Oh hang on, that would only happen if you replaced the word 'cathedral' with 'mosque'

Wonder what the idiots will sing about Peterborough?

Im not scared to admit it, if they think of anything I wont be ashamed, Id be impressed!

You're a town full of Posh gits, just a town full of posh gits etc

Perhaps then an upper class blades fan of Asian origin can get upset about it being racist and report us again.

It doesn't need to be analysed bc we know what it meant?

I think this is wrong, and dangerous.

The people involved deserve due process, as we all do. It's a principle of justice.

If it is established they are hardcore racists then suitable sanctions should be put in place. But not until then.

Plenty of posters in numerous threads have various points of view.

Motive needs to be established.

Banter is sometimes unjustified as an explanation does not mean banter is always unjustified as an explanation.

Was everybody who threw bananas on the pitch in the 70' and 80's a hardcore racist? Does everyone who has ever engaged in monkey chants hold deep seated white supremacist views? Most likely not, but they'd still probably describe their dickhead actions as "banter". Just as the bunch of idiots at Crewe who thought it was acceptable to hurl a load of sexually explicit abuse at a female official probably would.
It's not about establishing guilt and delivering punishment as far as I'm concerned. It's about challenging such moronic and infantile behaviour when it arises. Otherwise the clubs name gets dragged through the dirt, and I want no part of that.

Is anyone else annoyed at the reporting of the alleged racist chanting at the Bradford game as reported by a fellow blade, who must have fantsatic hearing, sat in the South Stand.........according to BBC Radio Sheffield the Kop were chanting you're a Town full of 'Paki's' and also according to Brdford's Chairman Monkey chanting.
I sit on the Kop and heard a group of about 20-30 chanting 'you're a Town Full of ISIS' which is wrong and could be construed as racist.......however this chant was ended after a minute or two when older Blades at the back of the Kop pointed out that the chants were wrong.
The Club of course have been slated by the BBC and the blade who made the compalint for not responding to the complaint immediately.......I work in local government (obviously we're as PC as they come) but we have a set timesecale to respond to compalints like no doubt the BBC does and I bet its not within 24 hours of the complaint, we only do that for racist behaviour if its directed at the complainant not someone who has compalined thinkign he heard racist chanting - the blade compalinign wasn't sure what was chanted!
Isn't it time the Club got rid of BBC Radio Sheffield as they are behind the vast majority of news items that slate us as a Club..............perhaps Football Heaven and the news Editor at BBC Radio Sheffield should join this forum and join a number of other Blades knockers!
Their Chairman, by his own admission, wasn't there, but heard monkey chanting...best get me sen off to hidden hearing, cos I WAS there, and heard no such thing.

You can analyse the motives behind it as much as you like but it doesn't alter the fact that it was wrong. It isn't acceptable in 2015.
But it was a tiny minority of dickheads, some who probably didn't see it as racist and did indeed consider it just banter, who were quickly put in their place by the surrounding fans (I heard quite a few ironic cheers, whistles and jeers at them).
It's a pity the media have blown it out of proportion but that's how the media works.
It doesn't warrant intellectualising, it wasn't an intellectual act, an act of protest or a political rally, it was a small group of daft lads trying to be funny and embarrassing the club by doing so.

So technically, it's not racist, just bigoted? Oh, that's ok then.

Not got the time to read all 15 pages but I did browse through, and leaving the moral side of this etc, what do we think will be the punishment, should we be found guilty? I couldn't help worry about potential points deductions from this, although a fine is more likely?

dont worry you can con a team out of the premier league by playing players you don't own ,and only get fined .
So that's a ten point deduction for 10 seconds of thick chanting

I doubt if they will be able to prove anything one way or the other

I can't recall a team been deducted points for ages, and there's been much worse than this by the likes of Milwall etc. Even at the Lane, we can all remember the firework that went into the away end, during the derby and that didn't result in a points deduction but we had part of the ground covered for a season or so from memory.

It's against United's ground regulations (and everyone else's for that matter as these are in line with FA and FIFA guidelines).

United say (in these regulations) that anyone found committing such an offence can be subject to a ban. They could also turn any evidence across to the Police for prosecution.

The FA will wait to see what United do. I suspect if we ban some people, they might just leave it at that. I don't know if they have any sanctions that can fine us.

I guess it requires CCTV and some sort of sound evidence.

I suspect stupidity will lead to some youth getting a ground ban.

The best thing is not to engage in anything like this.

I agree with the person who mentioned it is likely to come from the section that thinks it's OK to lob flares onto the pitch, or in many circumstances at their own fans.

Stupid.

I was more offended and angered by the abuse and sexual harassment that the female lino got at Crewe this season but it didn't get the attention this has got.

Depends on what CCTV and sound gives.

Someone will get banned whether it's deserved or not. That is the likely route United will take. Doubt anyone seen mouthing it will have the means to defend it.

I might be getting old but I know what I heard from a very small section at the end of the game. Nowt to do with me though, it's whatever United choose to investigate and do.

Just read the daily star link i posted earlier,i find it amusing that the pictures they have printed are way out of date jess ennis stand went at the end of last season & the other picture is quite clearly wrong with the fans invading the pitch which i dont remember seeing, unless i blinked. obviously done by a wank journalist

Can I just say ,that I think Sheffield United club and fans are about the least racist I have come across ,and Ive been to almost every ground in the English league. We have far more black and Asian fans than 90% of clubs and have through Howard Holmes and the like lead the way in combatting racism.

I didn't realise it was a competition.
