Can't imagine what he was buying food wise and wished I had the nous to look. Seventies Sheffield supermarkets did not offer your average South American much in the way of native foods. Somehow can't imagine the Argentinian wizard tucking into Fray Bentos pies, Findus crispy pancakes or the embryonic McCains Oven chips that were the food of Gods in our house.
Saw him shopping in Sainsbury's in about 79, his missus was very exotic and exciting...

Anyone know his diet? ( yes I know it's a weird question with an unlikely chance of response but then my thoughts about his missus were probably the same and someone in here may have the right amount of weirdness to know!).
My first Blade hero.
I believe Mrs Sabella was a huge fan of the Vesta range (chow mein, curry etc). Followed by Angel Delight or a Saucy Sponge for pud
Fray Bentos is named after the town in Uruguay where meat was processed & packed. It's very close to the Argentine border so Alex could have been a fan of their pies!Somehow can't imagine the Argentinian wizard tucking into Fray Bentos pies, Findus crispy pancakes or the embryonic McCains Oven chips that were the food of Gods in our house.
I was there when he was presented to the fans at the start of that clip. Also at the first game of the season Orient game (lost 0:2?), buses were on strike that day and we walked to the game from Shiregreen, a great turn out of 19k I think, which was a good crowd back then. A great player on the ball.

Peter Kitchen who is a Blades fan. Spoke to him on Facebook last year. His heroes were TC and Woody. He scored a hat trick against us in March 1978Me too. Massive let down losing to orient after all the pre season hype. And it was a Blade who did us! Kitchener? Used to play for Donny?
